Well... I bought Hyper 64 with SS64, SS64 2 and Wild Ambition.

So, it's time that I buy that SuperGun thing.
Now, I don't know much about all that so...
There are two SuperGuns, right? One from RavenGames or that other one from Mas Systems...
I live in Europe, so I was thinking about RavenGames...
But I want to know what do you people think... Anyone with RavenGames SuperGun here? Are you happy with it? Is it working fine with your Hyper64?
Or should I buy it from Mas System?

Oh, and am I the only girl with Hyper 64 system here?

Thanks..!

I own the MAS supergun (supernova), and it's pretty good. My only problem is that I have to do a little wire soldering to get Neo Geo games running, but other than that it's very cool.

You may want to also check out the Sigma supergun at http://www1.ocn.ne.jp/~kaiten

I'd suggest waiting for a AESII.

It can function like a SuperGun and seems to be made out of high quality parts.

Coupled with the fact that it has a built in MVS and a built in AES slot, it could be the SuperGun of choice for running H64 games.

I'd suggest holding off on a purchase until we see if the AESII will be released and see what kind of quality the unit produces.

If you're not afraid of very simple soldering then you can make your own supergun for about 50 quid. It's very easy.

Do you live in Europe?? If you do then you probably won't even have to worry about any sort of video signal conversion, as you can put it straight into the telly.

AESII..?
Ok... I guess I can wait if it'll really be that good. But when do you people think AESII will be out? I mean, it's kinda hard to just watch those SS boxes... I would really like to play the games.

DoughBoy, I am afraid of soldering...
Besides, I can't get all the parts I need here where I live.

BTW I got Email from Raven and they said that their SuperGun also needs some wire soldering because of that button problem.

Anyways, thank you all very much for the info..!

Right, the super guns are stupid because they are defaulted to 3 buttons on each side. I bet you could alter the supergun to read 4 or six buttons on each side through main jamma plug (and not the kick plug), but I never bothered.

Soldering isn't that bad. It's a lot easier to do a hack job on the hyper board than installing a modchip. I mean infinitely easier.

My supergun came with 4 buttons all wired up,not 6 though,i think its pretty cool as i can play mvs games on my TV a lot cheaper than playing aes games on a home system and other jamma games too and there are no censorship on mvs carts so really if you get a good one like i got you will be happy, problem is though its a european model with a scart outlet so you cant use on most american TV'S

Do not count on the AESII. Just get a super gun, or better yet, a cabinet with a big ass monitor. If the AES II is ever released, I doubt it will be that reliable.

Bah. I'm willing to wait 'n see. I too was looking for a SuperGun and was considering making my own (I was going to take a backpack and build one into it for Portable Urban Gaming (That's right..The PUG Pack), portable screen and everything.

The AESII just sounds like a good solution and I'm willing to kick back for a while until it has a chance to suck .

An aes2 is only for collectors anyway.

I mean if you have the option of mvs or aes carts, well, it's obvious really isn't it.

A supergun/mvs is what you want.

sorry for dragging up an old topic but it saved me reposting it

My problem is I own a supergun which i beleive to the uberia one.

Its the tiny black box type.

Anyway I especially bought a hyper 64 and games to run on it but all i get is a blue screen.

Im guessing it may be to do with the power supply isnt strong enough to deal with the hyper 64?

A real shame for me as I like the uberia supergun as its great and lightweight for one slot games and will probably have to sell it now.

Do any of you know if i can buy a new more powerful psu for it without blowing it up and still being able to run the hyper 64 or is there a different supergun out there more suited for hyper 64?

Im sorry i cant be more technical and any help is greatly appreciated, kernow has already been a big help

I suppose what im asking in regards to is a more suitable power supply for it, I hope someone will be able to help. Are those desktop ones designed for heavy supergun use and power hungry boards like these.

The plug socket would have to fit into the supergun too i guess

Buy a true arcade supply and wire it for your supergun. That's what I had to do for my rev. 1. I bought a power supply and soldered it to a DIN plug which was compatible with the supergun I had already built.

I suggest what Neo Alec stated. I have an arcade supply that I wired for my supergun to power the Hyper. I even had to turn up the +5 to the upper range just to get the colors stable.

The Hyper uses less than 6A on the +5v line, check to make sure that all 4 +5v pins have +5v.

Your all such great guys trying to help me. I have a suggestion. I am willing to send my supergun to any of you in the mail and pay a fee ( as well as cover postage) if you can fix up a new power supply for the supergun i got (its a tiny one i think their called uberia and the power supply is seperate so I guess the main thing would be getting one with the right power socket shape.

Please pm me guys if your up for it I will make it worth your whiles financially and be eternally grateful.

PS: Im in england so please take that in consideration in regards to the power supply

Thanks again
