i've got a hyper coming this week, so i'm in the same boat as you. <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

from what i gather, there is a special power requirement for the board and a stereo harness.

You will need a supergun ($295) http://www.massystems.com/SuperNova.html or build your own.

Sigma is available in the Neo Geo Store a bit pricey .

Good Luck

A mas supergun, athough seemingly pricey at $295, is a worthwhile investment. The craftsmanship is impeccable. Moreover, it will let you play any jamma board. You can have an MVS, Hyper, tekken tag, SFII CE, etc, arcade perfect to your tv (s-video option is available).

I got my supergun off ebay for $200 about 2 years ago. The only reason I bought it was that I wanted to get SS 64 II: Asura Zanmaden, for the hypre neo.

Whoever makes that sigma is laughing.

My own supergun was made to the highest quality using the best components. Hence it cost about 80 uk pounds (excluding controllers).

It is very durable and takes a good kicking every now and then.

But over 600 dollars???

Oh well, if people are stupid enough to pay that then good luck to the makers....

That was $295 us, not uk. If you can make a quality supergun (that can play all the games) for 80 pounds, you may want to start up a business. You could sell these for 100 pounds, and make a small 20 pound profit. But, you'd pretty much shut down MAS and Great Western Gaming. So why not?

Supergun or not , you will need to check the manual you got with your board to see if it says JAMMA+ or JAMMA on it. If it is a fully Japan board more then likly you will have the 2nd version that is jamma, this means its fully plug and play ready. If your manual says JAMMA+ or is written in english, then you have the first version of the board and it SHOULD be hooked to an aditinal powersupply. You will also have the option to rout the stereo sound to another connector. IF! you do not use the 2nd leads for the adinitinal power supply you will shorten the life of your board.

I am still personaly building my system, and do not have full details on the rest of this. But this is from information I have picked up in the six weeks of research that I have done. <IMG SRC="smilies/smirk.gif" border="0">
