I just received my neo geo hyper kit from vecktor logic and cannot read japanese and i am new to all this arcade stuff therefore I have no clue how to hook it up, besides the jamma connection. I have an old cabinet with an old style neo 1 slot which has the standard jamma and the controller ports for player 1 and 2 on the right side. I do not know where or how to plug the controller wires into the hyper board because the old connectors do not fit anywhere. And can I just plug in the jamma connector or do I have to add wires or switch them around?
PLEASE HELP ME!
Thanks
Dominic

I am assuming you have the Hyper with the Jamma and Sound power plug. Well this is not recommended put I split the power on my jamma connector and routed it to the hyper. I have the manual with the specs in english and can forward it to you. however it is a little over 11mb zipped so you need to have a hefty mailbox.

Ive run my Hyper board through a JAMMA supergun and an old arcade cabinet and the board worked fine. As you say, you have an old cabinet running an old 1 slot MVS you should already have the 4 buttons wired for neo-geo games.

The only thing that needs to be wired up is the test switch. Someone mentioned on these boards that all you need to do is touch a wire between PIN 1 & PIN 15 (may not be right pins, my memory is shot to shit)

With that said...your board will reset anything you change in the configuration as soon as you switch carts

I think the old style board needed extra wiring for stereo sound but Vektor stopped selling these due to problems with the boards having short lifespans if incorrectly setup, or something likthat

The connectors don't fit???

Man, do they look like they might fit, or is the jamma connector too small for the Hyper mother PCB (that sounds a little dirty, eh)?

I've owned a couple different hypers. Seriously. Both fit in the normal jamma harness that I had on my supergun (now sigma).

Maybe you can post a pic?

Thanks for all the help. I finally got my hyper hooked up. I personally think samurai showdown II for the hyper is very underrated. This game is sweet. I love the x-rays of the bones breaking when your using Bust Hanzo. I had one more question about the hyper. How can you tell the old style baords from the new style? The manual I recieved from big bruno showed 2 white connectors on the front of the baord for sound and power by the jamma connector, but I have 5 i think(i am not looking at the baord right now) anyway I assume that I have a newer style. If any one knows please let me know.
Thanks

Hyper 64's are great! I just bought a Road's Edge kit for $128 + $10 shipping! I'll have my friend take pictures of the kit before he sends it here.

The old style pcbs require an external power source for the sound.
