It's really a beautiful surprise how people are UNABLE to get the meaning of an simple message.

The matter never was about US carts over jap carts and never was about the metal slug 3 JAP rerelease.

Comminicating further: the fact I'm right is brought up by all of you complaing about how money rules the world of videogaming and how players are more important than collectors.

The main point is that a neo geo home cart release is NOT a good investment.
Simple as that.

If you look it in that perspective you will get WHY Shawns the driving force for new AES releases.

He is a FAN before than a business man.

NCSX and other shops will NOT venture in a not easy business. CLEAR.

Bonuskun you didn't get again what I was meaning to say.

Metal slug 3 US release is ALL from Shawn,no doubt,like Sengoku 3 US release.
USA releases I'm talking.
In the past many were the spurces which helped neo geo home carts to be brought up in the market NO DOUBT.

But again-IN THE FUTURE,Shawn stands in a different light compared to others.

But that's a good hint that he has the right gear to make a Metal slug 4 JAP and USA home cart a reality if supported.

SO true. That's way Metal Slug 4 aes release is a difficult goal,not a good investment.

ONLY A FAN CAN GO FURTHER THAN NORMAL BUSINESSMAN.

In totally different position stands the MVS market which is clearly still supported due to worldwide success of mvs hardware.

You see? Earning money again justifies the NEW mvs titles.

NEW aes home carts mean new JAP and USA version.

What blind people don't see it is that the survival chance of the neo geo HOME SYSTEM will be due to the FANS's investment .

The neo store and !arcade! have worked in that direction and the neo store plays a unique role in AES home cart releasing for the future.

But the making of a home cart isn't decided by wether someone purchases 500 copies at once or not, it's based by the actual interest of retailers all around the world and of course in Japan itself. See, 500 English version is in fact a small number when they at least produce a couple of thousands of JPN carts ( and I'm sure even more for KOF ) which they easily sell to all the retailers which have placed their preorders requirements before production. Shawn, NCS and others are just considered as retailers ( Big one, considering the amount of carts they preorders ).

If people who usually preorder and buy Japanese home cartridges would have choosen the US ones from the neostore, then regular retailers outside Japan (NCS, Buyrite, shops in Europe...) would have ordered much less Japanese carts from SNK / SUN Amusement.

The original equation was :

Total cart sales for SUN Amusement = many Japanese version in Japan + a good amount of Japanese versions around the world + 500 English carts to someone in the US

With your ideas it becomes :

Total cart sales for SUN Amusement = many Japanese version in Japan + much less Japanese versions around the world + 500 English carts to someone in the US

In the end SUN Amusement would have sold less cartridges to retailers, thus making the home cart market less profitable for them. period.

If the 500 English carts disapear of the above equation, you'll just see other stores ordering more Japanese carts ( to satisfy the former, "English" buyers ) to SUN Amusement and that's all.

Just buy the original product if you want to support the manufacturer.. After that you can't say one will show "better support" by choosing version X over version Y, there's no real difference.

To be released Metal slug 4 aes should be prepaid for a good part of the production.

Now,how many retailers will be ready to do that?

Few at best chance.

Shanw is a big neogeo fans who "devoted " much time ,money and effort to the neo geo.

he should be ready to do that IF supported.

Of course the game will sell in japan and from other sources but the main point is TO GET Playmore or whoever TO RELEASE THE GAME PREPAYING FOR IT.
