Hello everyone. This is a really stupid question, but why is the Neo Geo home cart system so expensive? I mean they made enough of them and we're a couple generations pst 16-bit, so I was just wondering. I hope you guys answer a newbies question.

Yes that's a reason another one is because the rom's in the cart's are really expensive even today and SNK produce's just a little bit of software so they have to make some profit $$

No such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers. Speaking of which...

I believe the gentleman asked why the SYSTEM was expensive, not the GAMES. And with regards to the system, no, it's not "very rare." The reason it is still expensive is because there is a steady demand for the item that creates the current market value. While the number of Neo cart systems may be less than some of the more common systems such as the NES or Genesis, the main reason for the current market value still rests with the growing demand and nostalgia. However, if anyone wants my extremely rare Neo Geo system produced in Botswana with the special purple and pink stripe on the box, feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Mikhail

Namely because the system has survived on quality, and that is what people pay for when they invest in the system. Otherwise look two posts up.

Isn't it cheaper now than when it came out?

Even then, the price is why because the demand is still their. The question is: Would you spend $150 dollars on a used PSX?

The Neo-Geo is expensive because it's worth spending the money.

Actually one guy asked me to sell my first generation PS to him for $160 because he didnt' believe that my console is that good (look new and still runs for over 6 years) last month.

If it runs that long it may be worth that much. Never hearda one doing that before.
