I have been trying for months to get a home system to display MVS quality, and I never could. Always turned out too bright, or just completely screwy. (search the tech support forum)

Well, I got in a system from !Arcade! this week with the RGB "Ultra" mod. It is the total shit! I had previously wired a Neo SCART adapter to a Jamma fingerboard for my past attempts at arcade RGB quality. The RGB lines are still drawn through the normal DIN on the back and I just plug in my SCART to Jamma cable....

Anyways, it outputs pure MVS quality RGB. I honestly could not tell the difference between the MVS and Home System. I know there was some people out there that was looking to do somthing like this, well this really works nicely.. no problems whatsoever.

I never understood why someone would need to mod a Home system for RGB. If they have the means for an arcade monitor, why not just use an MVS board?

Unless you REALLY wanna use it thru an XRGB-2 or something.

BTW Ray Young is a prick, he's a total Dion wannabee, putting his name on everything, I mean I hate Dion, but at least Dions the fucking original scumbag, not some wanna be Canadian bigtYmer, don't give him your bussiness, it's a damn shame how he horded all Nikkes shit, because he saw everyone was buying from him for cheap, and not touching his fake games.

Well... I have home games and MVS games. When a new Home Cart comes out, the MVS is too much. Some games I prefer to have on home cart, while others I could care less. I want the ability to play Home, MVS anywhere.. TV and arcade. Just a matter of personal opinion and taste.

As for the second half of your post, I have no response. Think what you like.

Yea I can understand you might not wanna buy all your home games over on MVS, just like I don't understand why people convert MVS games to home carts, their MVS games!

Well everyone knows "Chris" Ray Young is a crook, I mean I used to go in that guys chat channel client thing, he used to talk mad shit about Shawn, about destroying neo.com etc, the guy is nothing but a money gruber, who doesn't care about the Neo.

I'm sure Krauser and GUI can tell you when he used to ask all of us (Samhain included) to delete our posts where we mentioned him, and to not mention his name on neo.com, like we were his fucking puppets, hell no.

And that idiot Tull Pray (Hanzo), used to say really dumb shit like "Sharpen your Swords", right when their board was supposed to open because they were trying to kill neo.com, funny it took them 6 months to get their site up though, I guess they don't work weekends in Canada.

Shawn knows all this as well, because I and others told it all to him. You can't respect a wannabe like arcade, I'd respect Dion before that guy, cause at least Dion is original.

Arcade's ass was making airplane propellars or some shit before he even knew what the Neo was, and buying out Nikke wasn't cool, damn shame Nikke sold out, but I don't know if I could blame him, because I'm sure he got a ton of money to sell just to him.

Just out of curiosity, what did you use before (composite, S-Video, normal RGB)?!?

When I attempted to hook it to the arcade with the regular RGB out on the system, it would turn out bad. I had caps removed, I tapped into the CXA line, never could get MVS RGB out. Thats all I'm talking about here. I use the system on my Cab with this RGB mod, and I use it on my TV with s-video. Thats all this mod is for, hooking the home system to a arcade cabnet.

i totally understand not wanting
to play home carts through the given way of just
regular av outs.
i totally want the MVS of kof 2001 just because
i have s video out on the MVS/supergun i have now with that.
i m starting to really scrutinize what i get on
home cart for that reason.
as for !arcade and the critisims here,
from what i hear of who deal with them they are
very reliable and pretty knowledgable about
what they make, ie the converter, they re converted games.
whatever.
didnt nikke had problems or something?

eh.
i dunno.
blah.
i wish nikke still dealt with NEOGEO goods like
everyone else but things change.
not much else i have to say on the things said cept that.

o yea..
www.NEOGEOUSA.com = (is really in canada! ;P)

NeoTurfMasta,

How did you go about getting this "Ultra" mod? Did you send in your system and they modified it for you? How much did the whole thing cost?

Honestly man, your going to need to talk to them about it. It's not my place to give out those details...

BTW, you will have a PM on some of the games you have listed :)

Maybe it's just me but...

My Japanese AES connected to a multistandard TV via scart/rgb is just the same that a MVS on its monitor.

Also, I was wondering... how about stereo sound?

Is there a mod to carry and lead the stereo output on the same scart that carry the RGB signal?

That would be damn cool for home systems, don't you think?

Well, I sent an email to Ray about it but he said it would still be a while before he offers this to the masses. I guess you have the inside track.

From my expierence, tapping the RGB directly from the DIN does not out put Arcade RGB quality. I am not sure of the specifics of how scart TV handles the RGB. But I do know, it is not strong enough of a signal for arcade monitors.

I dont see why this would be a problem. Just tap the audio L and R from the Neo and run it through the scart pins.

http://www.gamesx.com/hwb/ca_VideoTvScart.html

Tap the pins and it should be good to go. But again, I dont have expierence with scart TV's

I never gave it much thought, but when I used the XRGB-2 for display of my MVS (or other PCBs) and consoles (including Neo), there was a toggle switch that I had to set which would change the RGB mode between console and PCB.

I don't know the specifics, but it did appear that it was a signal strength issue of some sort.
