Playmore Petition for Snap-Lock Cases

I said I was going to do it and here it is:

Someone on this forum made a very good point to me, Playmore wouldn't be producing inserts and instruction manuals from SNK. They would be producing their own manuals. So basically, I have decided to just ask for cases since that is what most people want. Here is an email that I recieved from Playmore:

Dear Sir

Thank you for your email.

Unfortunately, we cannot sell those cases to individuals directly.
Especially, snap-lock cases are one of the parts of our products. We know that this has been a problem among NEOGEO fans, but we cannot sell you the cases alone.
Please understand our situation.
However, if you contact some distributors who sell NEOGEO cartridges, you may get some.

Should you have anything, please feel free to let us know.

Distributors ehhh? What if the distributor doesn't have any to sell? Then what? I would like Playmore to tell me exactly where I should go. Shawn is a distributor. They would not sell them to him because they don't know if there is a market for these. They sell him games because they know that there is a market for those. We need to show them that there is a market for these boxes as well. If we can convince them of this, they may sell them to Shawn who will in turn sell them to us. I think it is worth a shot.

I am up to 37 people including myself. I will need a few hundred in order to get Playmore's attention. The deadline is August 1st, 2002 the one year anniversary of Playmore. If we all sign, I think we may be able to pull it off. There is no harm in trying so please show your support and sign the petition.

you know what I think would be cool.... is a case that would have SNK engraved out.... and filled with mother of pearl .... or abalony (I think thats how you spell it).... those are inlayed in my guitars

Cummon Tonk! Join in with the rest of us. If we all sign, this came become a reality.

Seriously Tonk, don't come down on the guy over a little thing like this. He really wants these cases? Sure, why not. Shawn even mentioned elsewhere that there is no doubt that the cases would sell well.

The fact that of the matter is that Playmore will do whatever will make them money, like any company. If there's profit to be had in selling the cases, then surely they'll do it. If there isn't, then no. Supply and demand...

is this just to get Playmore to reprint manual and shit... Or what is it.

well, I will sign. would be great if it happened. i doubt it though. corporations like playmore want to see froffit in the millions, not thousands.
however, if it does happen, I seriously hope they get rid of the large,insert destroying, snk logo on the inside of the case.

The explanation as to why supplemental new style cases are not being produced has already been provided. If you want new cases, then you should buy Playmore’s new home cartridge releases.

FYI, I have inquired directly concerning the purchase of new style cases on numerous occasions over the past year(s) with no success. Their intentions are to simply sell the software.
