I like it!!! It reminds me off the good old Genesis/ Nes games where artists would actually draw great cover art, (golden axe , thundeforce, streets of rage, + millions more) instead of relying on some smooth CG crap. it reminds me of the cover for Cobra Command on the Sega Mega Cd:

I also like the cover-art. I have to agree that drawn out covers like that are just so much cooler when compared to most cover art today, which is usually just CG images of things from the game. Very nice.

I think it looks really cool. I don't see what is bad about it. It looks different from the standard setup of a DC import cover. Looks nice to me!

I think it's sloppy because... The image is completey faded and bland... It's cropped and looks like some kind of background image, if anything...

And the black bar looks tacked on, too..

No doubt! That is so retro, and really reminds me of old sci-fi movie posters or book covers. Very awesome!

Now I just hope to score a poster of that cover. Oh, and I want the game too haha. <img src="graemlins/drool2.gif" border="0" alt="[Drool 2]" />

Eh?!?...I wished that the picture spanned the entire cover instead of having that black space. But it's a minor complaint...I praise Treasure for the simple fact that we are GETTING Ikaruga. Treasure making, ESP distributing = quality bears :D

Ikaruga is a Treasure shooter with RS-esque backgrounds (RS = Radiant Silvergun = greatest 2D/vertical/shooter of all time IMO), Silhouette Mirage-like weapon system and is coming out for the DC (JPN only) on 9-5-2002 (Sept 5th, 2002). Good enough? :D
