Well, I just got home from E3 and am I burnt out...

As we all know by now, SNK was NOT at the show, and Capcom Vs. SNK 2 was the only SNK element there at all.

I stood in line for 20 minutes or so to play CvsSNK2, my wait would have been less, but there were a bunch of LITTLE PRICK FUCKS that kept cutting in line and I practically had to wrestle my way to the machine. When I did get to play I picked Haomaru and was soon granted one of the biggest gaming disappoinments of my life....

HAOMARU LOOKS LIKE SHIT in this game.

This is NOT the Haomaru we know and love from the SamSho series.... AARRGGHH!!!
He looks WAY too cartoony and cutesy poo.
Capcom has really done a number on him...

Oh well, as far as the rest of the game goes, the Backgrounds are much better here, my favorite being the stage were there is a big inflated E. Honda balloon on the left and a big Haomaru baloon on the right.. pretty cool. Overall the game is better than CvsSNK1, but IMO this one sucks only slightly less than the first one. Mark of the Wolves makes this series look like crap....

The X-Box was really unimpressive... if these games are the best of whats to come, then Microsoft is going down, HARD.

What really surprised me was how GOOD the Gamecube is! Luigi's Mansion is REALLY cool, and Super Smash Bros. Melee is also amazing.

There is a level in Smash Bros. where you are in the jungle on a bridge over a roaring river... This level was AMAZING! Best use of 3D at the show IMO.

The PS2 games on display were a pretty good:

Devil May Cry: Very cool looking, but the action looks repetitive...

Metal Gear Solid 2: Looks good

Maximo- Ghosts to Glory: A very cool game, kinda like a 3D Ghouls and Ghosts

Overall, it goes without saying, but 2D games are dead.... 3D is now the order of the day, and E3 just drove that home further for me.

Sad, really.....

really? shit.

as a pro-Xbox gamer, i would have expected a better show from the Xbox, but i'm not about to conjure up an excuse for it. if games don't get better, (and if they dont make the SNK fighter ports for it) i may as well wait for another system. <IMG SRC="smilies/frown.gif" border="0">

I thought Gamecube looked much worse then first gen Dreamcast. Project Gotham on X-Box absolutley killed GT3 on PS2... and the game of the show was not the over hyped MGS2, but the little known of Dead to Rights!!! That game took me by surprise. All and all this was the lamest E3 I have ever gone to... what was with all the empty space, the games were pretty lame for the most part, and I agree X-Box had about 9 titles, none blew me away (but maybe Gotham)... PS2 looked crappy as ever with the horrid games with big empty lifeless worlds, Game Cube games looked un-inspired... nothing that we haven't seen before... System of the show, by far the Game Boy Advanced... just my op... Last years E3 was much better... and what was with SEGA not open to the public this year!!!!

Hee hee!

I learned my lesson two years ago. Avoid Saturday at the E3 like the plague: Its when all the kiddies get there. My roommate was working the guest registration booth this year (no, his name isn't bob freeman), and he said they started handing out passes outside for the last hour.
