AMAZING deal on the new SNES 2's, but I heard they were crap compared to the originals. Is this true?

In denial eh? Just keep telling yourself that it's just as good no matter what anyone else says.

Didn't they lose the stereo and RGB capability with the switch to the SNES 2? Or was it just the RGB they lost? RGB doesn't matter to me since I can't use it anyway, but for anyone who would, best you could do is find a used SNES Original.

No Im not in denial, I am perfectly happy with my snes 2 that I am getting, I also have a old one anyway, plus I dont have any use for an expansion port liquid snake and I can really care less about RF cus I would never use it, I was just trying to be nice and tell people that you can buy them new of cart-mart that may be interested.
IMO the snes 2 is way cooler. =)

Not to mention the shitty plastic they are made of.

The cart doors are very prone to breaking.

Welfare SNES it is. Overall a much crappier, cheaper machine. I don't know why anyone in their right mind would buy one instead of an original SNES.

But you seem hell-bent on getting one, since you think they are so awesome. Nothin anyone says is going to stop you.

BTW, how much was yours? I seriously hope you did not buy one of those 100.00 packages.

The point is not your buying habits, but man, 100.00?

That's like when Kadesblades bought those 2 NEO CD pads for 157.90 from buyrite.

Its not that you paid for it, its that you paid so much for it.

It's been a while but I think I didn't like my SNES2 because I couldn't use SVideo.

The SNES 2 is great. Its still as well built and I never had any problems with mine. The loss of RF and and the Exp. port is no big deal. I'd probably say the same about s-video too, when I tried out the s-video cable on my old SNES a long time ago I don't remember seeing seeing a noticeable difference..it's a 16 bit system using sprites, afterall.

I have a SNES2 and it has never failed me, also the RGB is easy to fix, just three wires, and once you mod it, the RGB ouput is better than a SNES1 (too dark).

I don't care about the RF, I never use it, if it bothers you that much, you can pick up an RF unit for the N64, they are compatible on the SNES2.

The lack of S-video is bad though, to mod it you would probably need a little pcb, unless you are working with SMDs.

Plus it looks much better than the SNES1 IMO.

I can live without RF and expansion but no S-Video? <img src="graemlins/ohno.gif" border="0" alt="[Oh No]" />

S-Video makes a huge difference in sprites where color bleeds and fuzzy graphics are more noticable than on 3D textures.

I didn't know the SNES had S-Video. I bought my SNES 2 for about $20 at Best Buy in summer of 1999 I think. I don't give a rat's ass anymore about that system. You had it for years and then you want another one that looks different. It plays the same. You are interested in the chase and not the product. You will be happy with it for a little while then kick yourself for getting it. The same goes for Neo collectors. They finally get all the games and when there is nothing left - they toss them.
