When these inserts were made, Some were designed
for the new clam style boxes.
Others were designed for the old style box.
That is why they are different.
As for resizeing. Yes, easily.
They are raster images, so that is not a problem.

Well several reasons actully.
ace is an excellent format specificlly designed to split into multiple files.
It does it very well.
The real reason I choose it originally is because rar (what most people use) is known
to be used by software pirates.
As a result any xoom/nbci free server used
will delete rar format whenever they find it.

Ace is new and they usually dont know what it is. So they wont just waste it on sight.
not that it matters on bb's site.

But its a fine format, & the work was already
done by me. So we saw no reason to redo it.

Yea its winace, however i'm pretty sure winrar will unzip the ace files just fine.

Sorry to throw it at you but don't you think that selling these on CDs is piracy that goes against copyrights ? I think even putting them on download is, but who cares...
Don't take this as an offence, I just want to tell you that if most of us shout at people "pirating" games with emulation, we are not so far from it in here. That is my opinion even if this looks to me like a good idea for most of us but conscience and law are what they are... I don't want to be flamed but that may lead to people printing those and then selling them on Ebay or elsewhere and you shouting at them. Did you think about it ? Actully i give you 2 answers.
1, its fan art. Even The anti pirate king
Nintendo allows Fan Art. This is not piracy or infringement.
Companies love for fans to do stuff like this. Its like free advetrising.

Giving away roms is not. Thats crossing the line.

How do I know its ok with SNK?

I called SNK & asked and got permission.
It was easy, & totally clears my mind.

As for selling cd's. Morally I do disagree with selling any fan based inserts.
I do not do that. I have absolutly nothing to do with that.
So that question is better left to ngf.

IMO shawn is not selling inserts.
Hes just asking for compensation for his time
to bother sending you a cd. Its just for people that cannot download for some reason or another.

I do collect MVS which is not concerned in this by now but the problem of printed copies floating around looks scary and that is all. I do have many MVs mini marquees on my hard drive but I wouldn't print them. Watermark would be a good solution but that is not the point. Anyway let's wait and see what happens. Collectors will just have to be more carefull now.

That is something that I disagreed with Shawn about.
He feels its the right thing to do to support the fans, so maybe he would be better able to explain it.
I have never seen a dime, so my mind is clear.

When they justify selling roms, there still selling someone elses property.

Thats not the case here.
Fan Art is owned by the fan who made it.
Not SNK. Its only when the fan scans official art that the waters get "muddied"

In the case of these scans, they were inserts made by ngf, not myself.
They say they have the right to use snk art "per snk".
The truth is, im not sure. But I do know this.
Snk never minded fans placing pics of mvs
marquees or official home cart inserts on the net.
They have given permision to anyone that asked.
They never, ever gave permission for the distribution of roms.
So imo, its a whole different ballpark.

I dpoon't think there is any copyright problem with copying the NGF-inserts, look at Super Dodge Ball Japanese, it are just the 2 flyers which came with the mvs-cart with some screenshots, megcount, neo-geo sign, slogans and a spine added.

I totally agree with you. In fact I went to Neo Geo through emulation and never paid for roms i.e. got others property for free... <IMG SRC="smilies/ohno.gif" border="0"> I know this is unfair and now I collect the real stuff and use roms with an emulator just to get shots, nothing more. Anyway, don't bother answering me precisely, I was just giving my point of view and I agree with you though.
