Hi dudes, long time no see.

Even though I am constantly trying to be a calm person, this FUCKING PIRACY SHIT IS KILLING ME!!!!

I bought today the only mvs I was missing "Rage of the Dragons", and when I was about to pay I just looked at the cart and saw some rare stuff on it.

The plastic was a little strange, the serial number was preety stupid "000-2-jkl", so I freaked out and began to think I was buying a bootleg.

Well that crap was indeed a bootleg and the fucking seller told me:

Dude, this bootlegs work just like the originals, if it fucks up, I'll change it.

Man, fuck pirats, nowadays they think their shit is worthy!!!

So obviiously I did not buy shit, and went to other store and got the original cart.

Now my question is:

Is it common In your location to find almost perfect bootlegs for the LATEST neo mvss?

Please tell me your thoughts on this, so i can feel the true gamer support!!!

I am getting drunker by the minute and even in my mildy sober state I can see that that dude is totally wack! Bottlegs are shit and all those who support them are shit. By the way, how much money was he charging for the boots? The real deal goes for around $900. I bet he was surprised when you were able to tell it was a bootleg. We need to find this prick and do some work on his face - Ghetto Style!!! <img src="graemlins/veryangry.gif" border="0" alt="[Very Angry]" />

@Kanjifreak

Why don't you say the name, address and maybe web address of the shop where you wanted to buy the game? I would appreciate it.

We have to send an e-mail to Playmore or evoga saying where to find these guys!
Emulators? bootlegs? the piracy must stop and must be denounced!

You have to understand that there is very little point in that. In the current day, it's awfully easy to bootleg a NeoGeo game that's unprotected.

Think piracy is hurting Playmore now? They're stepping into another arena soon with CD based systems. A hell of a lot more pirates can burn a hell of a lot more cds a hell of a lot easier than putting together a Neo cart.

Sad, but true.

Wrong. Well at least with the PS2. The DC has been bootleged to all hell because all you need is a boot disc and you're playing PIR8 games. The PS2 however is different. Unless you have the Messiah chip, you have a really complex procedure to play copies. And since the Messiah isn't out in Japan/USA yet (well to work on NTSC TV's) then it's going to be a while. Not to mention the fact that even if it does come out, there aren't alot of people who are going to do a 21 solder mod on they're system. So don't be too worried about mod's yet.

Peace

JHendrix

PS. That USB PS2 mod is a pain in the ass and requires swapping among other things so I wouldn't worry about that.

I appreciate the correction. Important to note though, companies (and some individual sellers) are claiming otherwise, and that's why I believed that way.

You guys take these piracy issues too seriously - first of all arcade games are made to be played in the arcades and not at home, so certainly you guys buying MVS carts on day one they are out certainly don't help Playmore/SNK/whatever.....

And if Playmore/SNK/etc. think there is a problem with piracy because somebody dumped a cart or made a bootleg I`m sure they would deal with it if they think its worth it.... Honestly I don't know if the MVS will be more popular for much longer now in the arcades, and not just because the arcades are dying, or people are playing roms, probably because home consoles are getting much better looking games. Don't flame me too much ok :)

I'm actually surprised it took them this long to pirate the damn thing. I mean shit, for every legit product out there, there's probably 2-3 pirate products to match it.

I fucking hate piracy, but there really isn't a whole lot people can do about, aside from reproting it to the company. And even if you contact them, they won't do anything unless it's a big distributer.

They work really hard on closing down EMU/ROMs though (Nintendo has closed down a few sites that i can remember).

Hi Revquixo :)

I was lucky enough to avoid selling my collection on ebay, now I am cool, and with the complete mvs collection AGAIN (as always :) )

Anyway let me tell you the issue down here.

In Mexico as in all Latin America, the arcade market is very strong, indeed stronger than in the USA and Europe.

You know why?

It's so fucking simple, a lot of the dudes in Latin America don't have the money to spend on PS2, XBOX, GC, etc.

So these dudes would rather go to the arcade and spend 5 bucks for many hours of play.

In the USA and Europe a lot of dudes would rather buy consoles and play at home with their pals, therefore the arcade scene up there is preety dead :(

In japan shit's different, the arcade has a social context behind it, cause those guys feel cool playing at the arcade and hanging out there. If anywhere else you feel cool to go to the arcades with your pals you would be treated as a non-mature motherfucker or simply a nerd.

Well people, conclusion is:

Piracy in the biggest arcade market in the world will completely fuck the industry and therefore our hobby!!

So, please take more seriously this piracy issue and please consider all the factors that are related.

Bootlegs?

Dear sha-v:

The place is called:

Video Juegos Mario

The address is:

Calle 4 esquina Norte
Pantitlan, Edo. de Mex.
Mexico

I do not know the zip code but the phone number is:

57561348

Hope you can do something about it man.

Also, there is a pretty big organization of bootleg distributors, but I don't know much about that.

Excuse me, but I really can't get the real meaning of the phrase:

"he's cruisin for a bruisin"

English is my second language and this sounds to me like

"he is looking for a beating"

what is so wrong with that phrase?
