My site is down at the moment for those wondering...

If you tried to visit my site recently but couldnt get to it, it's down at the mo (not dead as a few people thought <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> ) - my host has moved servers once again, but it should be back up pretty soon. My email also isn't working, so if you emailed me recently thats why I didnt reply yet <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

Fran: Before I start, I just wanna say that I don't mean to sound like I am flaming you, and I don't wanna start an argument... I just need to say a couple of things...

Ummm, me too harsh on games??? You say I hated Double Dragon, but I gave it a good review... to me, 7/10 means a good game (but not spectacular), not a bad one. Just because I like something doesn't mean I instantly give it 9/10 or whatever like some people might do (not unless I think it deserves it). I have to be constructive and give it the mark I think it deserves, and although DD is a cool game, I personally think there are WAY better games than that available for the Neo Geo, hence the 7/10 rating.

Also, not EVERY review is done by me, some are written by other people. For instance, Galaxy Fight's first review was by me, and I gave it an average rating (6/10) which is what I thought it deserved (but I know not everyone agrees). The second review of the game was by someone else and I know they completely slated it, but that was their opinion and they were kind enough to write a review for me so I posted it (even though I didn't really agree with it myself).

Anyway, for your info I have been into the Neo Geo since the early nineties as I played it in the arcades tonnes back then and I also have access to the real machine. <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> I do use NeorageX, but mainly so that I can take screenshots and stuff for the site - I can understand why many people here hate emulators though and I respect that, but they can be a useful tool at times.

Anyway, I guess the morale behind this post is just because I don't like every game you like, that doesn't make me a Neo Geo hater, and everyone is entitled to their opinion <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> I mean, if I hated the Neo Geo and only discovered it a year ago, do you honestly think I would have taken so much time creating my site??? I love Neo Geo and always will - besides, if you don't agree with any of my reviews you are always welcome to write your own stating why you disagree, and I will post them up on my site <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

Freakin' "A"!

I hate reviews that give a game 9/10 just because the reviewer has a fond memory of it. That's a piss-poor way of reviewing because it creates no grounding/connection to the overall library of games. 7/10 is a good rating in my book. 6.5/10 can even be if it's a niche game.

Thanks Bobak, that's exactly how I feel. By the way, you are doing a good job with the review section here - the main thing I like is that you have reviews up for SNK ports to other systems. That is something I wanted to do for a while but haven't got round to yet.

The only non Neo Geo reviews I have on my site are Capcom Vs SNK and the Psycho Soldier review. Maybe doing some more of those is my next task when I have time? <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

On your page you have a listed faq of the Neo*Geo written by Chris Mullins.

I hate to be the one to bring this up and Mullins wasn't the only one who helped create this faq. It was actually the combined efforts of many users and when the final piece was done, Mullins conviently edited our their names *DolphinLord's among others* and tried to take sole credit for this. <IMG SRC="smilies/mad2.gif" border="0">

It's an ole argument and to be honest a lot of people who helped with that faq are still pissed at Mullin's for pulling that bullshit but, they of course didn't know Mullins was a credit whore. <IMG SRC="smilies/veryangry.gif" border="0">

I was thinking of actually taking this faq at one time and re-adding all the names of the original people who contributed to give proper credit due for their hard work. I'm not going to say mullins didn't do anything either because that would be wrong but, It was wrong of him to try and take full credit for this.

The only reason I bring it up is because people have told me that they read this faq and said mullins was a prety smart guy for doing all of this by himself. <IMG SRC="smilies/loco.gif" border="0">

So It should be no problem repairing the damage done here and I'll probably re-submit this to gamefaqs as well seeing as it's floating around there also. <IMG SRC="smilies/smirk.gif" border="0">

Hmmm, I didn't know that. If he did take the credit for other peoples work then that is very very wrong. I've only ever written one game FAQ in my life, but even in that I made sure that I credited every single person that sent me any info to use in it.

If you do edit the FAQ and submit it, I'll probably post it, but I'd have to keep the one Chris Mullins submitted on the site as well, at least for now - a much better situation would be for him to come clean and actually add the names back in himself, although I can't see that happening.

Well to be blunt Mullins did quite a few fucked up things while he was present. If you look in the black book section you'll see his name listed.

He also personally fucked me out of a new copy of Last Blade 2 for the NeoCD and a few other people got screwed also. I'll probably be contacting a few people soon so I can try and remember who else contributed to this faq. I'll keep you posted.
