These pictures are being provided by Billy as proof of ownership. Billy was looking for someone to host these pictures, and since I have plenty of unused web space available, I decided to help out.

I don't think people doubt Billy, but for the money he's asking for I think people appreciate the proof.

EDIT: Ah, what the heck: If he doesn't want to be in the picture, why not write "Billy Pitt's Possession" on the Newspaper? Just a suggestion, since that could be anybody's newspaper.

Nice. Always fun (and depressing to an extent) to see hard work that never got acknowledged.

Billy just sent a new picture with his name written on today's newspaper to prove once and for all that this is for real.

Just to update everyone here, this entire thread was started SOLELY because Chris Ray called my bluff on the Neo-Geo ML. He challenged me to prove that I own the proto through a select series of pictures.

I just want to make sure that everybody here realizes that THIS (as well as the full spread and review I posted prior to this) is the PROPER and PROFESSIONAL way to BACK UP a "claim" of having a proto.

Keep this in mind the next time some SAP claims to have something and provides either NOTHING but words or 1 or 2 fuzzy or faked pictures.

oh_no shame oh_no

Asking again...

When will this be dumped?
Let me finally address this issue so that everyone understands and lays it to rest.

Just ask VINH TRIEU who by the way backs me up 100% on this...
THIS CANNOT BE DONE ANYMORE. PLAYMORE (snk properties) WILL PROSECUTE. IT IS ILLEGAL. PERIOD.

If one of you (or a group of you) wants to "test" Playmore and see if they're bluffing...be my guest!! Buy the game and do it!

Also consider this people... As mentioned...if ALL I really cared about was "money", then I would have tossed this thing on EBAY where it would sell for A HELL of a lot more then $3 or $4K's

I am TRYING to let a neo community person get this. (someone like me, but who can actually afford this thing) which is why I have not chosen EBAY.

RELEASED games like Metal Slug sell for $2 K !!!
and Kizuna is worth more then $6 K !!!
And these games have SEVERAL produced.

Were talking about a ONE OF A KIND UNRELEASED game here guys. You KNOW the price is justified.
Last but not least, I didn't "pull this figure out of thin air". What part of:... " I bought this game with MY OWN MONEY and simply want to GET IT BACK"...:do you NOT understand?

All these quick and simple "oh just dump it" posts are stupid. Before saying that place YOURSELF in my position...knowing full well that:

a) it is illegal and playmore will prosecute your ass...

and

b) you are out several thousand dollars of YOUR OWN hard earned money for which you get NONE back after "dumping" it for everyone else who then all get it for FREE.

It just doesn't work that way guys.
Here it is, one last time, in black & white...

You want the game dumped? You want the game EMU? etc.
No problem! Then BUY the damn game from me so I can get my damn money back and DUMP IT YOURSELF.
Then YOU (the buyer or buyers) can assume ALL THE RISK and RESPONSIBILITY of LAWSUITS and JAIL TIME amongst yourselves...not my f'ing problem anymore!

One more thing...the "trade" issue that Big Bear addressed...

Yes, again, I admit...I would GLADLY trade this proto for another proto that I do not have. And I would rather do so INSTEAD of selling it... Why? For the opportunity to get my hands on yet another proto and take a full spread of pics for EVERYONE to be able to see and enjoy.

This brings me ONE STEP CLOSER to solving the NeoGeo product/game code puzzle. And gentlemen, that HAS BEEN and REMAINS my top priority.

Anyhow, hopefully this post clears up alot more things. Any other issues that anyone wants addressed, just let me know. Unlike others, I don't DODGE issues and I don't change the subject when the heat is on and I have MORE then proven this tonight through my pics & posts!

Jesus, it comes to this.

Billy, if you were so into preserving this game it would already be in the hands of Jeff K, or Neo-0 anonymously. ROMS would be dumped, no names would be released, and everyone would be happy. It's only impossible to dump it now with your name attached to it for prosperity.

But, you're doing the same thing you whined about Arcade doing with his protos. Instead of doing what would truely be in the interest of the community, you're looking for money.

If you just want everyone to love you, let it happen naturally. Telling us about how selfless you are while asking for 3500 to make back what you spent doesn't quite paint the image of the "Neo Proto Savior" you seem to want to portray.

Someone argue with me on this issue, I'm bored.

I am new to this community and have no personal experience with protos what so ever, but I will say that I do not blame Billy Pitt for not wanting to dump the ROMS. If I were in that position I would do the same thing! Playmore would know exactly who it was that dumped them, and knowing how Playmore is right now, they would promptly take legal action. Obviously if Mr. Pitt says that he can not afford this cart, then obviously he can not afford legal fees either! Why put yourself in a position like that? Life consists of enough problems already without bringing a lawsuit upon yourself oh_no

This is an incredible find for the community and a real treasure to behold, but lets not be so selfish. Maybe one day, somehow, the ROMS will be dumped. Then we can all enjoy this game if we choose to do so. Until then it is just nice to see such a rare find come to light!

Okay, so he borrows the cart to *someone* else who without his knowing dumped the roms and made them available to the public... Think Playmore can and would do something about that ? NO. They couldn't.

Isn't it more then logical that someone dumps those roms ? All the neo fans would love to play this game. I would get those roms burned back on EPROMS and solder them on a FF3 board or something and get it to work. How wonderful would that be !

And what happens when one of YOUR eproms on that board would stop working ? Then the last opportunity of playing this game would be gone forever. just because one guy couldn't outsmart Playmore.

And I'm not accusing Billy for anything. I love how he made these details available for all of us. But I'm just saying there are enough opportunities to do more with it.

You're incorrect SuperGun. Playmore wouldn't be able to sue for the dumping of roms because they didn't make the game, nor do they own the intellectual rights to the game (as far as I know). So unless Data East finds out about it and decides to take legal action, nothing will happen.

Looks to me like its just a clone of Puzzle Bobble anyways. Correct me if I'm wrong of course. wink

I won't argue with you on this issue, but I will debate it with you. On your first point, yeap, your right, my name is highly associated with this. And it is because I wanted it to be. I won't lie, I am weak when it comes to getting my 15 minutes. It's something I really enjoy and take pleasure in.
However what you say is not completely true, because once I sell it, it is no longer my item and so if/when it gets sold again and resold again and even eventually dumped, it will have nothing to do with me or my name.

On your second point, the arcade angle, first off Ray Young hasn't shared JACK SHIT. Where are HIS full spread screenshots of pair pair wars? Furthermore, again, broken record, how am I "looking for money"? I am "looking to GET MY MONEY BACK"! Don't you get it?
Had this item popped up by anyone else and anywhere else, such as where I MYSELF got it, then what you would have told that person the same thing?! I MYSELF was just prior to this the buyer! Only NOW am I the seller.

As for your last point, I don't know if being a savior is something that I should be considered, but I sure as hell am not the bad guy here!
I happen to be the guy that got the game. I am someplace in the middle. Not the best, not the worse.
A WORSE person (like Ray or Larry!) could have been the guy and then we would have NO INFO, SCREENSHOTS & REVIEW, plus the game would never even have a chance at getting bought for it would sit on a shelf forever and never be sold!
A BETTER person (like WHO?!...I ask now SHOW YOURSELF!) could have been the guy and then he would have bought the game with his own money, and then thrown his money away by giving it for free to the EMU community. yeap, a real savior!

Now your ONLY recourse to this is "claiming" that there is a guy who would do this...and guess what! ok, fine! PROVE IT! This is very easy to do because all that has to happen is that guy has to buy the game from me and do just that! (throw his own money away to be a "hero".

Does it all make sense yet to you?
It's very easy to say this and say that, but it's quite different to do this and do that.
Let me see YOU spend YOUR money and be that "best" guy hero savior.

I don't understand how it would be "throwing your money away" to get the roms dumped. I don't think the proto would lose its value, if anything its value might increase.

Money talks.

I'm glad you "saved" this game from the depths of obscurity. I really am. But if you're only looking to get a few shots of the ROM chips, and you standing next to your cab with the game running in attract mode, all it does is prove that you're only in it for noteriety. Selling it to someone else is only going to let it sit in someones safe, or glass cabinet. Those re-writeable ROMS won't last forever sitting in someones den. You're no better than Larry Bassin.

Data East, as far as I can tell from searching the web, was bought out by Sega in 1995. Unless Sega cares about the IP, then Playmore has nothing on you.

Sit on it, let it die. I dare you.

Hum..

Billy Pit found this game.
It is HIS game.If you found this game, i am sure you would react in a different way.

I don't know how much he paid for it, and i don't care. But from the moment he found it, it is his game, and if he is asking for 500000 Usd, it is the same..
He can do what he wants with it.

It's really sad that Playmore/'teh law' keeps us from playing this game. It's a puzzler which isn't my fave genre to be honest, but I sure as hell would want to play and preserve a Neo proto game with only one known copy.

Normally, I'm not the one to call for dumps, but in this case, I think it's a valid request. I know that dumps feed bootleggers, but this isn't yet another new game that gets dumped and distributed because of ppl's greed, it's a piece of Neo history that should be shared, not hidden away in some guy's video game museum where it would be lost again for us all.

You guys are missing one big point in all of this. If this game does get dumped, Playmore CAN go after whoever does it even though the game is owned by Data East.

You need proof? Go to Playmore's site and download the PDF for all of the things Playmore sued NGF and Arcade for. If you look at these lists, you will see titles like Panic Bomber, Neo Bomberman, Neo Mr. Do!, Waku Waku Seven, Galaxy Fight and Bust A Move Again EX among other third party licenses. None of these games were actually made by SNK or Playmore. The rights to these games still belong with Hudson, Sunsoft and Taito. However, Playmore was STILL able to use these titles against them in their lawsuits! eek!

So, what makes everyone think that Ghostlop is void of this? Because it was unreleased? Because it's a proto? Because Data East is out of business? That's just bad thinking... IMO, none of those excuses are reason enough to risk getting sued just to put another game in the hands (or CPUs) of gamers. If he can get it done legally, that would be great. Hell, I love puzzle games and would love to give this game a shot on my MacMAME. But if it never happens, I'm not going to get mad and frustrated about it like so many people are doing right now.

A few years ago, dumping a ROM would have not been such a bad idea. But with the current actions of Playmore, I would never even think about it.

Hey, give this poor guy a break! shame

Id want to tell everyone if I found a rare gem like this!

We've all spent enough time here drooling over facts and myths about unreleased Neo games, that's what keeps the spirit alive, I for one am glad to hear about this find, and it also clears up a matter of missing NGH numbers.

Let's not get carried away here, we've lived without this game for seven years, so what's the sudden rush all about hounding this poor bloke to "dump" it? If he want's to sell the cart, then it's his perogative!

Like all things, eventually we will all get a copy of it sooner or later, just look at Bang Bead, or Zupapa, or Diggerman, yet I don't see anyone raving on about these anymore.

Yes, I understand this is a hot topic at the moment, but for heavens sake, just be happy that at last another proto has been rescued from obscurity, rather than wingeing about it!

We shouldn't let him get too stressed about this just incase he drops it or get's so pissed off he smashes it up in a drunken rage!!! loco

Good work Billy!! buttrock
