PLAYMORE's MAY 7 UPDATE

This week on playmore update:

A new version of SNK VS CAPCOM SVC CHAOS site. nothing really new, but the complete artwork for every character. (note that there is a little space on the down of the character roster, maybe more chars to comes).

The engrish version of the NEOGEO page include new MATRIMELEE, with this quote:

"Revived from the New Power Instinct series, the Goketsuji clan has appeared newly on NEOGEO! In addition to the familiar 11 characters, individual fresh 4 join in the heated Head Decision Match. And METAL SLUG 3 for PLAYSTATION 2 goes from May 22, to June 19. A really bad news.

Also, i haven't noticed that PLAYMORE have done an update on the May 2.

The discoloration on Terry's forearms has been removed \o/

There still kinda 'veiny' though.
And Guile's don't look much better off.

KOF 2K2 for DC cover, Blue Mary, hell yeah! 'bout time that K' took a back seat.

Still, I'd have liked to see the style and color from 2000 and 2001 DC covers.

Yeah, I just noticed that it looks like the forearms have been changed - Kyo's arm has definitely been improved compared to how it was before, just look at the main page of the site. I liked the artwork anyway, but the forearms now look a LOT better than they did. buttrock

Wow, that 2k2 cover is hot. I like it. Reminds me nothing of videogames, though, which is cool.

Playmore...only getting slightly cooler everday...still al long way to go.

Yeah, I thought they were different and someone pointed that out for me. I've also noticed that Kyo seems to have his burn marks covered up by 2 dark bands of cloth. Looks like this is going to be his new look.

All I can say is, Blue Mary finally gets props!

'Bout time she gets some cover show. Though I would guess they are trying to keep in the spirit of the original cover by their frugal use of color. I wish I could see a blow up of it as I'm kind of interested in the hair definition. If there was one thing I liked about the artist's original KOF2k2 cover was K's hair definition. Like the DC KOF2k1 cover, they certainly got the hair down.

I'm loving the DC 2k2 cover!

Thats a slick cover for KoF 2002, much better than 2001's cover. Very modern; nice.

All I can say is Playmore is on a roll, when it comes to cover designs. Sometimes elaborate, sometimes simple, but always with class. I already can't wait to see the next cover for whatever the next game is. I hope they put a wallpaper of it up, soon. I think I know what my next Windows backdrop will be.

not that i m complaining but why is it kyo beni and mary?
i guess they picked random chara to put on it.
i love the cover though.
and that would make for a great wallpaper.

It looks like there wont be any new characters for 2k2. though with addition of Shingo and King there wasn't much else to add. Too bad Heidern, Saisyu, and Chizuru missed the boat I think we can live with that though

I am really happy about the KOF 2002 DC port.I will buy it.I am also curious about SvC chaos.I can't wait to play that at the arcades when it hits.
But on the other hand, i am not too pleased with PS2 MS3's date being pushed further and further and not to mention no news about KOF 2001 for the PS2.Even though i own the DC version of 2k1, i will still buy the same game for the PS2 just because it's a KOF game.

Nice update from Playmore, but nothing really new on SvC:Chaos ( eek_2 !)

Anyways, went to Osaka last Sunday and visited Esaka as well. Went into Neo Geo Land finally and my dream had come true. Imagaine any of the KOFs on a `50 arcade monitor and you`re there drool_2 ! I`ll definitely go again before I leave Japan.

Can someone tell me if SNK/Playmore are still based in Esaka as I`m sure that I stood outside their very building on Sunday (opposite Neo Geo Land.) I wanted to go in but it was closed (God dammit !) Maybe I`ll send them an e-mail and ask them if they give tours ?

Personally, I think the DC cover art is ugly as hell. Most people can photoshop something better than that. It has no style or flair, its just pink versons of Nona's artwork of 3 characters posing on a white backround. Very disappointing.

I love the cover, Playmore are doing a fine job. Im one of the only people who seems to like 2001 a lot. I have had the cart since its release and have just got the DC port and wow, Its fantastic if they do the same with 2002 I will be happy. I like the cart but theres somthing about segas consoles I just cant let go of.

I'm somewhat dissapointed by the KOF 2002 Dreamcast cover. Sure, this is Blue Mary's second ever appearance on the cover of a KOF game (first one was KOF '97 for the Neo-Geo), but since recycled character art is being used, I can't help but feel cheated since there's no new original cover by Hiroaki. But still, I like the 70s Mod Squad-approach they took to the cover (and once again, the game's official color, pink, is being used once again).

I'm glad they touched up the art for most of the characters in SvC Chaos (Guile and Ryu both need some work still). I'm sure many people are dissapointed that Metal Slug 3 for the PS2's been pushed back (again, though I'm not one of those dissapointed people).
