**Posted by C.Ray on the NGF board**

After overnight phone conferences with SNK Japan we have confirmed that additional quantities Metal Slug 3 AES are being produced. The full report is at our sister site's, NEO NEWS and RUMORS, section.
It is an interesting approach to an English package release, only time will tell how it is accepted.

We regret that our customers were incorrectly informed that there would be no additional quantities of this AES title. When we are wrong, we have no problem admitting it. We do not propogate unconfirmed facts, and only after heavy pressure did SNK reveal the full details surrounding this event. We can only conclude that SNK disagreed with our previous recommendation that the market could not absorb an additional 2000 pieces of MS3, and resources would be better spent on NEW releases. Evidently, with prepayment by japanese distributors and a US based fan, SNK went ahead.

Thanks,

ChrisR

**End post**

I am amazed they didn't try and lie about it, but there's really no way they could at this point.

Oh man, oh man.. I hope those two like the taste of crow!

As I said before, "NGF" is out of the loop now, permanently. No more "official" releases through them (as if the KOF2K U.S. was "official", what a joke). Thank GOD the release of this and future carts will now be in the hands of people who actually CARE about the Neo Geo!!

"We can only conclude that SNK disagreed with our previous recommendation that the market could not absorb an additional 2000 pieces of MS3..."

The market? What market? The NGF market? Are they serious? Like the world of Neo Geo revolves around them and their decisions?

Serious therapy needed here, people.

Yeah but if you go to their equally half-assed sister site, you see this:

"In an interesting development, SNK's international dept manager, Hiroshi Miyajima, has confirmed the sale of a large quantity of Japanese Metal Slug 3 AES carts to a US based fan. This fan has also purchased the artwork to produce an English package version. SNK has delivered the artwork to the US based fan for domestic production of the English package version of MS3. The overall quantity(worldwide) of new cartridges is tagged at 2000 pieces."

So what are they trying to say here? I'll let you decide.

So NGF is saying (not trying-saying) that "someone" is going to produce the English artowork they way they did with their own "color corrected" orange striped English Metal Slug 3?

Anyone care to clarify where this new "English" cart is coming from?

this is pretty funny. the market definitely needed the game to be re-released, they just wanted to keep the cart count low to inflate its value.

i also found it funny that they received details after pumping SNK repeatedly for them, and that SNK wasn't directly forthcoming with the news.

Honesty???? Umm.... SNK is producing AND PRINTING the artwork for the English MS3. Neo-Geo.Com was able to make this arrangement for the title, the same Neo-Geo.Com that also processes credit cards, and pays the IRS (the feds always have to get their share) for all of the sales from the NeoStore.

I think we are well beyond saying a 'US based fan' did it all. While Shawn is a fan, he did this to help keep the Neo Geo alive. That is why he started the NeoStore in the first place, which has now turned into a business. Besides, for a group that is 'in the loop,' I have a feeling that this deal was on the table for a good while before it became a reality....

I think if we were to compare NGF with the NeoStore as far as retail qualities, we all know who would win.......

...in other words Mouse_Master, NGF once again shows just how petty, immature and unprofessional they truly are.

Thanks by the way for the clarification on the cart production.

Actually, NGF is right.

The market doesn't want to buy 2000 pieces of THEIR fakeass cart.

Well they are basically saying what I was saying they did with KOF2000 all along.

they paid SNK for the artwork. Freaked it and printed the artwork to make the carts themselves.

more or less.

Translation

we know this becuase that is what we did with KOF 2000 we bought 50-100 of the japanese carts

Translation

just like we purchased the artwork from snk to make KOF2000. then freaked it with are url and such and paid another place to print it out for us.

"this must be what is happening since we have no clue and it is what we did."

Personally, I think that NGF might have made a good call on this one...

I'm a HUGE fan of the Neo, but I CANNOT afford to pick up the English MS3. I've tried to figure out a way, but it's not happening.

I have a feeling that while I won't be able to pre-order, there will be more copies around...

Let's not forget either, this will bring the price of the japanese version way down...

If he tries to sell his MS3 for emergency or financial crisis, then I feel bad for him.
If he tries to sell his MS3 before cart value drops.......that's another story

Yeah, if you want to treat it as an open market where you can sell it for more than what you bought it for to make a shadey profit...I'm not going to buy you a drink when the price drops out and you have to eat a hundred bucks.
