Whoops, what happened there? The NGF KoF 2000 experienced a dramatic price crash ($100 down in value) all of a sudden. Reminds me of some recent NASDAQ activity ...
Any particular reasons for this?

Think placing your money in neogeo carts is a way better investment today than in the stock exchange.. atleast my 'portfolio' of neo gone better than my shares

I am living the high life.
I just sold Garou at its (six months later price) 10 k.
HAHAHAHA sucker.

Exremely incredibly rare, so rare it does not exist at all so rare, you have to cut your left arm off to even come in contact with it.
So rare that you cannot even open the game to check to see if its in there.
So rare that a crackhead in newyork is after it.
Highly demanded to the point of no return.

The price guide effects ebay.
I hate that Guide, no offence but it was the ruiner of my beloved Garou. 800 for a damn game is a collectors price.
I am a gamer first, please be easy when sending me to the gallows.
BTW who imputs the prices in that guide anyway?
Who has that amazing power to raise my games price up to a all time high?
Who is it?
I bet if SNK released production numbers, collectors would choke. I bet half the games that are "rare" arent that rare. When games go up.
It first fucks the gamers, and the grade A assholes will have PLAYABLE games sitting on their shelves doing nothing but sitting, collecting dust (or the morons who put there games in plastic bags, which makes me puke)
"Oh look at me I am a collector, I play the games I own (if at all) very little"
"Oh shit, a nicked insert, whats a paranoid person like me to do, I know I will buy another, resell this one for a jacked up ass price and then make it in double"
"Look at me I am a greedy reseller, money is everything, I would sell my own dick for a good amount"

HAHAHAHA, NO NEO PRICE GUIDE is extremely accurate. However the COLLECTORS price guide is.

The Price Guide is meaningless, if you ask me. It's not the word of God, my friends. The US KOF 2000, like it or not, is STILL the most rare OFFICIAL home cartridge. (It is official, make some phone calls).

I'm guessing that the price guide change has to do with Strikers 1945+ now being the most rare home cart, but... It's not official, I don't see how it counts.

You must realize, the English MS3 still isn't as rare on release as KOF 2000 English.

How can striker even be considered a RARE HOME CART?
This stinks of set up to me.
First the game release and now shawn magically has the game listed in the site's price guide as that rare?
I thought that was only for official SNk or licensed carts?
HMMMMMM....

About that ENGLISH KOF 2K. Shawn has it listed in his price guide, the only reason its dropping is because of that NGF url.
Had that been 100% SNK then there would be no issue.
Official or not, nobody will ever be truly comfortable with it. I am just glad I bought a unquestionable Japanese version, that way I don't have to worry about "is it official" cause I know mine is.
I am not going to be in denial, if its official(the english one) who cares, ngf's name is on it, therefore I don't want it.
The problem? That question arises because of its quesitonability. Whenever you have to question a product in the first place then you have to worry.

Strikers is not listed in the price guide.

But you guys seem to miss the point: I didn`t want to gather opinions about the price guide in general but the listed value of KoF 2K US.
If the giant drop is due to NGF being involved then why not lower it in the first place? I haven`t seen any of those on Ebay lately, so that should speak for a rise instead of a drop. Quite don`t understand it.

And: No, I don`t have a copy and will never be wanting one.

The reason why KOF2k NGF is down in value is because it is a NGF cart. And this will always be the case for thier carts regardless of wether they paid SNK for the artwork or not.

And the same thing will happen with a NGF Sengoku 3 as well if they try to do it.

This game will keep droping because hardly anyone wants NGF carts.

no Demand = no increase of value. Rarity has little to do with it.

The price guide should be influenced by sales...not the other way around.

People should use it as a guide, just like for action figures and other collectibles.

$800 is a lot of Garou, but if it's in pristine total mint condition, it's worth it...provided you can sell it elsewhere.

If it's a used copy of the game with a photo-copied marquee...it's a 100 game.

Like Transformers!! HotRod is worth about 60 bucks in good condition...wortha bout 100 in C9 mint...125 MIB...but it's worth 500+ Mint in a SEALED Box...I've seen it in a C10 box (which is unheard of, almost impossible. If you'd buy it new today, it'd probably only be a C9 because of little dings from shipping and sheleving) going for about $700 bucks....and it's worth it.

EXACTLY...the price guide is just that....a GUIDE! Not a PRICE BIBLE or PRICE INCOME TAX CHART! Way to put it......the price guide should be influenced by the buyers not Because the price guide says this.......that's how much it is........I hate it when there is a bidding war on ebay for Neo carts.......because then when a cart ends at like $500 (super Dodge ball for example) because 2 people couldn't just wait for the next one to come along....it brings everyone out of the woodwork who have it thinking that if they sell it now it's worth $500.......just because one auction ends high.....it makes everyone think that it's worth that much......when it isn't.......then everyone starts bidding on it....and then pretty soon you get games that would have easily went for $200 now going for $400 or higher.......I see this all the time with Japanese Saturn games....just putting in my $2.50......

You guys are hypocrits.

!Arcade! release is ok and just fine, right? It was in no way official or ever said to be, but it's ok. I agree, if it's worth $400 to you guys, and you enjoy the game, more power to you.

The English KOF 2000 shouldn't even be CALLED an NGF game. They would have had to pay some dues to be able to call that official, and check around... It is. Who would want it in their collection, you ask?

I'd love to have that English MS3 as well, as well as the Sengoku 3 release. The only problem is, I'm just not high enough society yet to afford all of it. I signed up for the S3 release at NCS, and I'll be lucky to get them the money on time as it is.

This is an exciting time for the Neo fans, we have a lot of choices. I have backed off of calling into question the companies at hand's business practices. As far as I'm concerned, I want to have Arcade around, NGF around, I want the official releases through Neo-Geo.com and NCS to happen... COMPETITION for our dollars will only benefit US.

So quit bitching. US KOF 2000 has been proven official already...

Even so, You forget one thing. The cart isn't worth jack to any collector becuase of the NGF label on it.

I'm sure if any avergae joe wants the game to play it, He can buy this handme down NGF job. That's all it is. The thing about NGF is that their rep is shit and when you have a rep like that, The results in the end are what's happened now.

If NGF had ever been legit*laughs* I'm sure their converted carts would be worth a lot more and this KoF 2K U.S. version would be highly valued. It's not and never will be.

!Arcade! has a solid rep with it's customers and that for one is why Strikers will probably go in in value on the collector standpoint. I like the game myself and to be quite honest having this cart in my collection will be great becuase the guys who produce this have a good rep with their customers.

We as the consumers have more power now than ever. We have our money and we expect to get treated fairly and honestly for us to do business with them. It's too bad Sega, Sony & Nintendo fans don't have the kind of power we do.

I knew the !Arcade! Strikers was going to take a little longer than release to get in people's hands. I quite would have beeen shocked if the game was on time. Look at Working Designs to see a perfect example of never keeping a schedule.

Suffice to say, NGF carts have always gone down in value becuase the people who bought it out are crooks. This has been proven numerous times and even if the cart is legit it's still a POS becuase of the people involved with it. Do you get it now?

must we debate this.

Is is a NGF release just like strikers is an !arcade! release.

So what of they paid SNK for the artwork. Who cares. NGF is not a company people want to support due to there attuides and bad business pratices.

Customers compliants are endless.

If the game is the "Holy Grail" of neo geo rarity then Shawn should have not problem selling the 6 he has in stock for $449

there going on 8 months in his store coming up on a year.

compitions is fine. HOwever lieing and decieving is not which is what these guys do.

Official SNK distrubutors

Official NITD NGH release.

How many people preordered this cart from them "Cash up front" in march when it was suppose to be released in april. then may then ??????

support who you want. NGF carts are down becuase they can not be trusted. it is like the boy who cried wolf. No one knows what is official or not from them.

and for the record it makes no difference to me I would not buy thier stuff anyway.

I will eat that dirt with Iori 2000, becuase I know KofF2000 US is officail. Why is it so hard for you to understand? I like and dislike NGF, but I know the KofF2000 US is a real SNK game. I have not one, but two in my collection, because I know it is officail. Chimpmeister, call my bluff and Email me a request pic for proof--I will send it ASAP. Besides, you never had an KofF2000 US before to inspect. , so how do you know?

It's irrelevant how rare it is if no one (or very few people) desire it. Here is a simple lesson in economics: if the demand for something exceeds the supply, the price goes up. Otherwise the price goes down.

Official or not, there are fewer people who desire KoF 2000 US than there are copies of it floating around which is why the price is dropping.

Those are facts, like it or not.

Yeah,Wan-fu,that's a good lesson.

NSX-T: NGF is fake since it's has the NGF URL on the back..more of that you can see NGF logo on the spine of the cart!

You can check the professional quality of the cart but it remains a well-professional made fake home cart.

Oh and yes,NGF didn't show the agreement contract for producing the cart...how could they?

Iori 2000/Kyo, be aware that not quite all that happened with the NGF KoF 2000 has been put out to air just yet. Don't get mad. Just know that there are some interesting facts about what was actually sold by NGF and called "SNK official." It's not over yet.

KOF2k is just a jap cart with a new sticker and manual period. Suckers who paid the extra for it only protest because they dont want to be seen as an ass

I don't know much about this, so let me get this straight. If you get the KOF 2000 cart from like Buyrite or J and L games and whoever else deals with Neo Geo you get the NGF 'fake' cart.
