For folks that know little to nothing about the Tabasa Character announced for SvC: Chaos (like me), here are some links I found about the game she came from, Warzard/Red Earth. Looks like she had a name change for the very limited English release.

Loved her in Pocket Fighter on PSX/Saturn, I wonder if Warzard is hard to track down

wow.
that art is reminisant of the d&d games.
cool. too bad it was never put on saturn or anything.
companies like capcom and SNK konami and whoever the
hell really need to have classic arcade and classic
genre volumes similar to the namco musuems and the capcom generation titles
to come out here in the states.
it wouldnt be a mint they would make on them.
but it would provide a better appreciation
for the newer generation of gamers and people who
missed out on these games.

she was also one of the hard to obtain cards on both cardfighters clash 1 and 2 for the NGPC
Impossible to obtain unless you linked two NGPCs, in fact.

War-Zard is easy to get...and it's fairly cheap, too.

Props for the relatively obscure Capcom selections, Hugo and Tabasa.

Who's next?

Super Joe

Eight One, thanks for posting all those pics in this thread. Man, what a tragedy that this game never made it to the Dreamcast. It seems tailor made for a console, with the whole leveling up aspect to it. How sad that you need an arcade set up to even enjoy it.

Lemme' ask you though, and hopefully this doesn't sound to horribly naive'. You had mentioned that the kit goes for about $100. From where have you seen this for sale? Also, what does a CPS3 system run? I have never looked into one of those.

::edit::

Hey, BTW, would it be possible for a few short vids to be posted of Warzard/Red Earth? I would love to see it in action. It just looks beautiful.

Good call. It'd be really neat if for a super he'd summon the albatross. Bit off the wall, but it'd be neat.

When I said the kit goes for $100, I was talking about the complete system. (CPS3 set + CD + Cart). As for getting one, I'll gladly hook you up since I go to Tokyo often.

I do have two videos as of now. One with the intro and another "finish" collection of Mukuro (watch the monsters get owned, shinobi style!) If I can't get them to you directly, I'll get someone here to get the videos to you for me. (Jigen? Games_OnGames?)

For a while back there I thought I was the only person who'd never heard of Tabasa. And its not like I'm new to Capcom fighting games either.

At least now I know I'm not some sort of weird ignoramus.

Thanks for the links.

Something you'll notice on the Red Earth art page that Ryo Geo links to is that Tabasa is actually called Tessa in the English version. I think that for Pocket Fighter it's the same.

What you'd expect, then, is that the Japanese SVC will have Tabasa and that the English SVC will have Tessa.

wow, would you be able to hook up some other people too :D

i dont want to be rude, but when do you think the next time is that you'll be going?

can you switch out the games in cps3's? i've heard you can, but that its easier and safer to just get seperate boards for each game, which makes no sense to me, but maybe you know? is it easy to find just the carts and cd's of games?

Hopefully, I'll be going sometime next week.

Switching the cart and CD is not at all issue. Some places sell complete systems for one price. It's finding the loose CD/Cart sets that might be difficult. If I can buy a complete SF3-2I set for well under $100, I'll snatch it up in a heartbeat.

I think both of the JoJo games have non-CD version hardware. If not then at least one of them does.

Yes.

I will never understand why the names had to be changed...

(JP->US)
Mukuro = Kenji
Tao = Mai Ling

Luan = Lavia (The Harpy chick)
Secmeto = Ravange (Chimera)
Blade = Jihad (The animated armor)
Valdoll = Scion (the boss)

Hi eight one!
I have WarZard jap and Red Earth USA....I'm not sure but I think that USA version is basically the worse becouse also when violence mod is on/normal there isn't blood and because some "learned" super combo of Warzard are missed in Red Earth.
I never see a Europe or Asia Red Earth cartrige, maybe in those versions nothing are missed.
Can you conferm that?

I've always meaned to get a supergun, I think this game might warrant doing that sooner rather than later.
