Matrimelee insert preview (color)

The full color artwork for the Matrimelee English home release was revealed today. Everyone was pleased with the black and white fax version, and as expected, the full color version is even more appealing. I noticed that Art of Fighting 3 shares a similar design in that they both share a white background, and so Matrimelee should compliment other home carts nicely.

Hey, that's really nice!

In full color, it looks great, especially the "Matrimelee" on the spine.

It'll definitely make a good looking addition to any homecart collection.

Now I wonder what the JP version will look like...

Honestly, I think the next recommendation to Playmore should be:

Write the text on the back in one draft, not rewrites, no spell check, no grammer proof reading

I can only imagine what their rough text looks like.

Wow. Beautiful!

Such vivid colors, and the art itself is just great. And I thought the B&W looked good.

It's cool that they are releasing the art early like this. Kinda fun and builds some hype.

Anyway, I am looking forward to playing this one more and more.

Is this too much to ask for the final product? It's 2-3 MINOR tweaks on the spine.

I dunno, the meg count placement just annoys the hell out of me. I don't really mind the battle action game thing too much, but leaving it in it looked crowded.

I kind of like the black bar on the bottom. Agree about the MEG count though. It should line up with the rest of your home carts.

Cole, thanks for your suggestions. I agree that your alterations provide a more uniform look with the SNK era inserts, but this current layout really does serve a purpose.

The red SUN logo looks better on a black background and gives the appearance of a deeper red. Plus, the “Battle Action Game” label helps this title match with the rest of the Playmore releases, which all displayed a genre label on the spine. In fact, if you compare to the previous post SNK releases, Playmore maintains a consistent layout with Matrimelee by simply replacing the screenshot with the meg count. In doing so, all of the Playmore home releases will still line up appropriately.

I suppose it's a matter of preference. We could always start another poll to see what the majority of the fans prefer.

It looks great but something I don't quite understand;
Why did they keep changeing the company logo on the spine from:
SUN-> BREZZASOFT-> PLAYMORE-> SUN

I thought they belongs to the same group? spock
They should just stick to the same logo using SUN as it look closer to SNK. eek_2

Maybe they should change the SUN logo to the same fonts and blue color like SNK logo, at least it's not very noticeable when all the games are put together on the shelves. tickled
