Present.

GregN. knows this though...we've met up a couple times this year.

I've sold neo geo games to about 15-20 people from MN, and at least 4 shops in the Twin Cites sell neo geo games (at insane prices), so I think there is a sizable "scene" here.

Just started lurking recently... 'cause I just got my first Neo Geo. ;)

I know one other guy in town who's really into the Neo Geo scene, but I'm not sure if he browses here...

Hey even at insane prices that is cool that shops have them. I am from outside of Philly and EB has taken over the area (Their headquarters are 15 minutes from here, and you cannot go in to a shopping center without seeing an EB or a mall. That kind of kills the indie sellers. The closet place I know is Playthegames.com in Md who has Cd games, and I was able to get some games from a Game Gallery (an indie seller)in Philly

Yea, the indie scene has died off a bit as far as I know in MN. Funco is HQ'd here (or at least their first store was here in Crystal, MN), so there are fewer indie stores here. There used to be Games to Go, but I haven't been there in over a year. I heard they closed. The only other place I know of is Ravens. I love to see indie places around. It's always good to support the little guy who sells obscure and classic stuff. Paying a little extra for games is worth it when you make a lifestyle of playing games..

Funco doesn't have an HQ in MN any more, actually - they were bought out by Barnes and Noble. Games to Go is now a physcic palm reading store, from what I hear. Now if that doesn't suck, I don't know what does.

Anybody know why they went under?

Nick, I do browse here, just not as often as I used to, as far as Carlson's post earlier, which 4 stores sell Neo-Geo games besides Raven video Games?

LOL, I've bought some games for Paul at RVG from Jyosui, what amazes me is that he can still sell them at such high prices. One thing that differs from shopping in store vs going online is, you can see it and touch it, once you pay for it, you get it on spot, no waiting and/or worrying about being ripped off if you don't know the seller.

I also know of this guy Ghengis from Games to Go who's really into the Neo although I'm not sure if he posts here. I haven't seen him in a long time, and he doesn't have a PC at home as far as I know although there was one at Games to Go where he can get online so I'm not sure if he posts there.

You mean Ghengis Khan? Haven't heard about him for quite a while after the demise of Games To Go (Gays To Go, the name used one time when a prankster hacked their phone answering system), during the last few months before he quit, he was bitching about the store, you know it wasn't a good sign and could sense the store closing soon.

I don't know about you Vince, but Ghenghis just struck me as being "full of it". He kept saying how one day he was going to buy the store and be the owner and he also says that he doesn't go to Raven Video Games which is in the other side of town although I hear from Paul and someone at this board that they see him there. And I also saw his Super Nova and at that time I didn't know what it was so I was asking him where he got it and he was like "you gotta know the right people" --like he didn't even want me to buy one so he would be the only one who had it. Now I become a member of this board and I find that the Super Nova is pretty common among members of this board and I know about massystems so it didn't turn out to be such a"top secret, mysterious system" after all. All these things REALLY ALIENATED me from Ghengis

L'Homme, Ghenghis wouldn't do that to me since he knew I'm a collecotr and old NG fan, my main problem with him is that he complains and whines all day in the store (about the store's problem and his coworkers), he even did that to the customers, that was a turnoff for me. After Games To Go closed, I never saw him again, fine with me.

Last time I went to Games to Go was like a year and a half ago. When did it close anyway? I haven't even bothered going back there since.

Ghengis!! I know he doesn't post here, although I wonder if anyone knows if he cruises these boards even as a guest.
