Why doesn't Playmore release MS3 on DC?

I've always wondered about this. Why release the KoF 2000, 2001, etc. , but not the MSlug series, especially MS3?.

I mean, if it's simply a question of not releasing it on a virtually dead system, why the hell do they continue to make the KoF ports for DC?. Beats me, a MS port in DC would rock IMHO.

They release the new KoFs (2k, 2k1, 2k2) because they already have the program code of the KoF98 and 99 ports, so it's much easier to release more KoFs instead of doing a completely new Slug 3 port for a near-dead system.

Last year, rumours had it that Slug 3 would come out for DC, but sadly it was only a rumour. It would have been very cool to have it on the lil' white box with a ton of extras.

It's a shame that MS3 is not released on DC. Perhaps that MS4 will be. But I really think that playmore ports of neo geo are only made for bussiness so they produce what will be sold mainly. The release of KOF 2000 on PS2 was successful in term of selling copies so I wouldn't be suprised if all the new playmore games will be PS2 only.

Yeah, I agree with Robert here. The only games that are getting made for the DC anymore are (mostly) virtual dating games and (some) fighting ones. As great as a DC MS would be, I don't think there's a big market for it (here in Japan anyway).

BTW I was very surprised 'Virtua Fighter 4' didn't get a DC release. The DC is like the Neo, it's a dead system that still gets games, only in this case, the company that makes it doesn't support it!

It seems the playmore coders are having a tough time coding the PS2 version, judging by the frequent delays.

The Dreamcast market is just dead my friend. Better off releasing on PS2, Game Cube, and Xbox.

Because some dreams just unfortunately don`t come true :( (and I feel really terrible as I write this as I believe that you can always fulfil your own dreams if you persist enough wink !

As far as I'm concerned any port of Metal Slug 3 will do, for most people. But in this case, perhaps MS3 will do well by being on the PS2. It seems the Playstation-only audience is more warm to Metal Slug than they are to KOF. Now KOF on the Dreamcast already sells well, because the audience is right there to pick the games up. And due to recent events, Playmore will probably see another successful year with their DC port of KOF. It also probably has to do with what console typically gets what. Since the Playstation got Metal Slug X, they may have figured that they would be the first ones waiting for a sequel. At least with the PS2, people don't have to suffer a huge downgrade in performance just because it's popular. God forbid if they tried to make a MS3 for the PS1.

It is a well known fact that th DC simply cannot handle 2D games well.

Period.

I wasn't talking down the DC's 2D capabilities at all. While I definitely wish it would be on the DC (since I can easily import for it), I'm not holding my breath either. The 2D comparison is more so the comparison with PS1 and PS2. If they have their hearts set out on making the Metal Slugs for a Playstation console, at least make it for the version that actually could handle the game without taking the big machette to it.

DC is not good at 2D at all.

the reality of it is that it probably wont be on DC
too but if it did i would get that definitely.
and i m sure there are others that would.
its alot easier to play jp dc games on a US system
than it is to play a jp ps2 game on a US system
unless playmore has some glorious plan to have
someone else release it here in the states like
what agetec did.
if they do.. then please no white blood
frown

Man that would be great if they did.... oh_no but it will not happen so we just all might as well settle down for the kof series and be happy. Because you have to remmember its always better than nothing.

I'd believe you, if reality hasn't proven otherwise.

Rade, I don't know what the fuck you mean.

Bangaioh and SFIII: 3rd Strike look like pretty nice 2D games to me.

But didn't you check out that content? Axel could own Ky with that uppercut. And in the Dreamcast example you only see a little bit of that background where in the Genesis example you can see a whole area. Ky maybe a policeman, but can he handle the Streets of Rage! :)

(joking of course, but all in fun)

Thank-you for showing the comparison. We can all see how the Genesis is the superior system.

Just look how shitty that one fighter looks. MM, Streetd of rage is the most beautiful game ever made.

I'll never understand why people here hate GGX so much. I'm thinking because its a new "next gen" pure 2D game that was made to appeal to the mass market and not look like something from the 16bit era.

I think it looks amazing, but you know what opinions are so :p
