This one is strictly for the collectors, I guess. Judging by the reviews, it is not something I would want to pay $399 for.

Man, I guess KOF2001 was out of the question as the MVS carts cost 1500 and the converted cart would cost like 2000.

Man, Ganryu...was there not something better to chose from? I mean, I don't exactly see folks clamouring for a Ganryu release...well, maybe the collectors do.

Anyways, I guess this one is going to be on a super limited and on pre-order basis...or is it?

Well, maybe 50 is the number that !Arcade! sold Shawn to resell.

Heck, I'll be surprised if people flock to this game. Its really a bad choice to convert.

I'd rather like to see that Strip-Mahjong game on the Neo-CD converted on cartridge... <IMG SRC="smilies/rolleyes.gif" border="0">

LOL that was a good one . . .

I have to agree with all of you here, can't understand that choice at all. I guess collectors will want it for sure, but it wouldn't have been at the top of my list!! <IMG SRC="smilies/ohno.gif" border="0">

I'm in agreement with everybody so far on Ganryu. That game reeks of lameness just on the screen shots alone. I might be wrong about it, since I didn't see what the big deal was about Magical Drop II & III until I played it, and now they're two of my all-time favorite games. I dunno, I just can't see Ganryu changing my mind like that though.

I personally would've preferred seeing carts of Pop n' Bounce, PI2, or some other sort of Neo-related project, like, for instance, an ENGLISH Card Fighters Clash 2 or an English Biomotor Unitron 2. English CFC2, in my opinion, would sell right off the shelf! At least, I know I'd sell a kidney or an eye to get it if I had to. <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0"> <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">

I hear ya Lou. CFC2 would be awesome, but it would be hard to do.

Get the JP version if you can, it's a great game, even w/o an english language option.

It's nice to see arcade doing conversions of unreleased Neo games, but I agree Ganryu is a poor choice. I could also be wrong, but the reviews and word-of-mouth on Ganryu have been less than stellar. I'd still like to play it though.

Shock Troopers or Super Dodge Ball (If possible) would have been better choices. They would have sold well.

Strikers was awesome: Awesome game (I didn`t think it would have a replay value comparable to the Metal Slugs but it actualls has! <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0"> ),
awesome conversion.

Ganryu: Awesome conversion as well (if of same quality as Strikers)but mediocre game at best - $400 is more than I`m willing to pay for this as a collector gamer (hey, new term invented).

Why not Super Dodge Ball, Prehistoric Isle 2,
Breakers Revenge? <IMG SRC="smilies/spock.gif" border="0">

I think the answer as to why is pretty simple:

Lots of MVS carts exsist for Ganryu, asking price $25.

So here is a cheap MVS game, that is in abundance, and can be easily converted. I have no idea what the cost of printing, board production, etc, etc is... but as a gamer the $374 markup on this title is a bit much. Even if the production costs warrant this price (I know this is a costly thing to do) the game does not warrant a $400 price tag. I like Ganryu, I have played through and beat it many many times... I think it is a fun game and I am quite happy I own it... but I spent $25 on it. To me it is like another Ninja Commando, or Super Spy. For the money they cost me, they are great fun... wonderfuly shallow 16-bit style games. I think you get the point I am trying to drive home... this price, although possibly warranted, is too much for Ganryu by a long shot.

I think the main reason you do not see PI2, Pop n Bounce, Super Dodgeball, etc conversions is because those games are pretty rare and expensive on MVS... so a home cart release would likely have to be dumps, and I do not think Arcade is into pirating ROMs (but I don't know).

Ganryu... Uh-Huh...

What strikes me is sure, it's easy to get on MVS, but doesn't it take a expensive sac cart, and isn't it a bitch to convert?

People keep mentioning sac carts here... I thought Arcade said he prints his own boards and does not use sac carts... has this changed? I thought the only sac was the MVS cart :|

Want something better?

Go to a used game shop, buy a Sega Genesis and a copy of Revenge of Shinobi. Shouldnt cost you more than $25. Better game, much better tuneage. Shit games like Ganryu are why Joe Average Gamer says "FUCK THAT!" when you start talking about $250+ video game cartridges.

I've played Ganryu on MVS, it's a pretty cool game in my eyes, but one thing is for sure, it is not worth 400 bucks, homecart or not, i think the price for the MVS cart, around 50 or so is all I'd ever pay for it.

400 is crazy, it'd be like paying 400 for a Tetris homecart.

I still want Pinball.

If The Duo "release" it for the AES. I'm seriously going to cry. I refuse to buy from them, even if that's the only chance I ever get to play some Neo•Geo-Style Pinball.
