Got this back from ebay regarding the NGF fake KOF 2000 auction, but first what I sent them:
I am reporting this item: http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=467158784
NGF is selling an inferior product which is labeled as an "NGF original"
neo
geo system cartridge game. The actual King of Fighters 2000 game to be
released by the actual publisher, SNK, will hit the market on December
21 of
this year. This NGF product is an infringement of the rights and
properties
of SNK. Please shut this scam auction down so that people like myself
who
want actual neo geo products will still be able to get them from ebay
without
having to worry about getting an inferior product being labeled as
"official". Thanks

I previously wrote to this email to you regarding an inferior product
offering on ebay. The seller has placed another such auction (Item
#473055706), selling the same fake merchandise. Just wanted to let you
know.
Thanks.
I got this back today:
Hello,
We have reviewed the auctions you have brought to our attention and
taken appropriate action. We would also like to explain eBay's policy
with respect to reports like yours. eBay is not in a position to make
judgments about the authenticity or authorized nature of auction items,
except in the most extreme circumstances. This may mean that we cannot
remove the item about which you contacted us. In some cases, we refer
the information to the owner of the rights (copyright, trademark, etc.)
involved, if we know who they are and how to contact them.
Although you may be extremely knowledgeable about these types of items,
we often cannot remove items upon the representations of third parties
whose credentials we cannot verify, unless of course the alleged
infringement is obvious on its face. That is why we strongly urge you
to notify the rights holder of the suspected infringement and encourage
them to join our Verified Rights Owners (VeRO) Program (formerly called
Legal Buddy Program). This program enables them to request the ending
of allegedly infringing auctions.
We appreciate your vigilance in helping us to keep inappropriate
auctions off eBay. If you have a question or problem, please contact us
and we will gladly assist you. If you would like to report a
questionable item please visit:

Thanks for using eBay!

Now, has ebay just gone soft or what? First they take the scam auction off, now this? I just wondered if anyone else had gotten feedback on this yet, or keow anything of what has developed regarding this NGF-sponsored disease.
