Damn I've been busy. Another project is up. Adding -5V to your MVS harness.

Take a look, hope it helps.

Some older game boards - Jamma and non Jamma require a -5V voltage to work. It really just makes the harness more Jamma compliant.

Briggs I got one for ya'. A way to access the Neo Geo Bios from the controlls. Like on the home system with a Bios chip.

Also a reset button on the controls would be pretty sweet.

Just a thought.

I bought a BIOS chip, so we will see where that leads when it comes in...

As Briggs mentioned some jamma boards require -5V,
an MVS board will work in a jamma cab, but a jamma board may not work in an MVS cab.

Silly question maybe. Where can one find those Jamma 25/56 crimp on pins? I've got a couple harnesses from Street Fighter cabs, and I'd love to get the SNK 4th button wired on there.

You can get all the pins, wires, connectors, buttons, crimper, etc. from Bob Roberts. If you don't want to buy the crimpers and ends, email me and I'll make them for you for a small fee.

In asking around, some of the Jamma boards that require a -5V line are:

Double Dragon
Rastan (and Nastar?)
Snow Brothers
and some of the MK series.

Bob Roberts is a great online retailer. Communicates entirely with email, and is very helpful and his prices are great. I made several large orders from him and was very happy with the parts, and the great prices!! :)
