Does anyone here know what the announcer is saying in the beginning of KOF'97. This has been bugging me for some time.

Hmm... I don't know what he is saying either. It never bothered me though. It seems like whenever I couldn't understand exactly what a video game character was saying, it never seemed to be as cool as what I thought they were saying when I finally found it out. Like, I always thought Mai said,"Look, Me bouncy!!" before her matches, but later on, on this very forum I found out she was saying something entirely different, in Japanese that meant something equally lame like Highest Angel, or Special Woman, or Ultimate Priestess, or some crap like that. So I went on pretending that she did say,"Look, Me bouncy" and I am much happier that way...

I think I heard "They're back.......As the hours...........Now, the fourth phase is about to begin" (Shingo,Kyo,Iori,NFT on screen) "The King of Fighters '97, the story moves towards it's final destiny" Now, if anyone can fill in the blanks and maybe correct me if any of the above is incorrect.

Just like the rest of ppl, I never pay attention to the annoucer says. Why? First of all, it doesn't matter what they say, I laugh all the time. For example, I play KOF 96 and 99 Evo, the annoucer pronouces "white" instead of "fight". why bother to figure out ? It's meaningless and time-consuming. I did remember my friend and I was trying to figure out what Ryu said in original Street Fighter 2. We thought he say "all you shit" but actually it's "Shoryuken"....

Scope how could you say such a thing!...half the glory of SNK is there crazy ass translations! you never know what the hell there gonna say next. Its always fun to try and decipher what the characters are saying...Yeah neo...it looks like we almost have the whole translation ...i have 97 for saturn and the announcer is really quiet. Is it the same on home cart?

SET THE BASE LOW AND THE TONE HIGH ALONG W/THE VOLUME........SHOULD INFINATELY HELP!
DECIPHERING VOICE IS EASIER THAT WAY........I LOVE MY BASS SO I NEVER MAKE TOO MUCH WORDS OUT.....ON MY PC AND STEREO THAT IS, THE TV CANT DO THAT SOUND STUFF =(

Well, I will keep on thinking the way I do, and Mai will always say,"Look, Me bouncy!!" for as long as I live. And hell, when my kids finally get to play the Neo and say daddy that sound sucks, how could you understand what the character is saying, I'll say damnit kids, in my days we had better hearing than you people now do. We had to strain our ears to hear even the loudest sounds on video games and television. And its obvious to me that she is saying,"Look, Me bouncy!" And when my kids look up at me and wonder what the hell that could possibly mean I'll just smile and know that its not time for the birds and bees talk just yet... because if they can't tell whats so bouncy on Mai they're not interested in the better things in life just yet.

Goin back to Scope's post! Me and alot of my friends thought Ryu was saying "ALL YOU CAN!" But I never heard it as "All YOU SHIT!"...That's some funny shit man.

When I first heard what Ryu said, I talked with friends and we all thought he says "All you shit". Then we thought it might be "All you Ken" since "ken" is "fist, or punch" in Japanese. Later I read Japanese magazine and it's written in Japanese so I knew it's "Shoryuken"........
It's really fun at that time. After that, I just give up figuring out what they say in videogame.

Speakers aren't too bad, and having the OST certainly helps. Let's see…

Bloody well should help, but it's still quite difficult to understand it all. Maybe when everyone wakes up in many hours' time I can try it on our good sound system, instead of my PC, though these speakers really are half decent. Even with the bass off, there's still a lot of cymbal clashing and electric guitaring. Well what you all see above is my take on it, for the moment at least. I give up putting anymore effort into this right at the moment.

Cant imagine any other words for it.
Perhaps seat like a personal seat or place

THat bit with the "three powers will be as one" sounds right on, actually. The announcer mumbles "one" although it sounds correct otherwise.
