I'll probably buy a lot of AES carts when I go to Japan in May. I am going to save my money until then. :)

Nice. Now all we need is a new powerup that lets you leap to the side in slow motion:

EDIT: Just realized that according to the poster on that site, Sun Amusement will apparently be distributing MS4 as well. Check the first image.

Love those double machine guns. Doesn't look like it shoots any faster than the old one, but it sure looks good.

I'm very happy to see those picture !!!

MS4 isn't a rumor anymore and it's coming...

two things:

1. the backgrounds aren't very original and it seems that develloper founded inspiration on previous 'slugs' !!!

2. I hope this baby will come out on AES... I'll buy it no mather what. :D

I don't know if anybody has mentioned this yet, but these are NOT screen shots. These are scans of printed pieces. If you look close, those are not pixels you are seeing in the background, it is a rosette pattern from the halftone screens printers use.

Just thought I would mention it.

Well, these screenshots certainly look a lot better than the first four released. Most of these backgrounds actually look like original piece of artwork, and not some ripoff. Some notes though:

metaslug4-3x.jpg : On this poster on the bottom there's a neat little array of the slugs you can use, number 7 from the left looks mightly interesting :p

5x: On the right there's a corpse of a soldier with a red uniform, and beside him there's some weird shield thingy floating, new powerup? Also the background on this screenshot looks very very good, it's completely new and it's exactly in Metal Slug style, and not some old ripoff.

6x: Picture of a new slug, they could have polished this vehicle at least a little, that Slug cannon seems completely out of place. Awesome background though. Another thing is that it seems pretty obvious some kind of edge smoothing rendering technique is used here, perhaps a screenshot of the PC version which uses a higher resolution??

7x: Two weapons at once, eh? Reminds me extremely of Gunforce 2 (the "prequel" to Metal Slug 1). That background looks very familiar... isn't that background used in the "How To Play" sequence in all MS games??? I'll have to double check that...
Update: I just compared the two backgrounds, and they are originally the same! It's just that the background is heavily modified, there's been added some barrels, and the road to the lower right is removed. But darn, does MegaKing have so lousy artists they have to rip the "How to Play" background? That seems a little pathetic.

8x: A woman and two zombies on the left? Wasn't the zombies extremely pale? I hope MegaKing wasn't so lazy that they altered the zombie sprites to make civilians. And yeah, that slug looks very very odd, what's it meant to resemble?

I can't wait 'til this game is released, it looks to be pretty awesome.

That pic posted above is definitely Stage 4 from the first MS. And I also saw a skyline from MSX.(I think it's supposed to be Chicago, at least one of the skyscrapers looks like the Prudential building.) And last I saw the BG with the cranes from MS3.

I liked that Missile Launcher vehicle and the Hostage riding a bike with Marco in the sidecar. It seems that they are saving Tarma.
