i see it says something about kof2k1

DREAMCAST: Am 08.08.02 erscheint in Japan King of Fighters 2000 von Playmore. Mittlerweile nehmen mehrere japanische Händler aber schon Vorbestellungen für den Nachfolger King of Fighters 2001 an: Das Prügelspiel soll erneut von Playmore veröffentlicht und im Dezember 2002 ausgeliefert werden.

Brace yourself:

To 08.08.02 appears in Japan King OF Fighters 2000 of Playmore. Meanwhile several Japanese dealers however already accept vorbestellungen for the successor King OF Fighters 2001: The flogging play is to be published again by Playmore and delivered in December 2002.

KoF 2001: The Flogging

That deserves an ROTFLMAO

Well, after what happened once with this game, I've got one hand with my fingers crossed, and the other with the bird extended.

ncsx confirms this. As I thought. Treasure was just giving the arcade operators more time to make money. There was never a doubt in my mind. Makes too much sense given it's Treasure and the Dreamcast is practically dead. VERY good news.

NCS was full of shit the first time they took pre-orders. How do you expect them to confirm anything on this subject after that?

I'll believe it when I see it in stock. No use getting worked up over MORE rumors.

Magazines are always wrong about shit, it's no more credible than a Game Site reporting something, it's just it's printed on a news stand.

Some of the comments I see are really sad:

Maybe I won't be trading my DC in after all...

You havn't found anything to play on Dreamcast in it's 4 years out besides waiting for Ikaruga? I don't think you should own one period then...

I doubt anyone here has actually played the game in arcades, for all you know it could be the worst Treasure game ever made, extremely short, or anythings possible. Treasure Makes bad games too (McDonalds).

It's coming whether you think mags are shit or not. NCSX took preorders based on a sku. Turns out the date was wrong for reasons explained by the Radiant Silvergun fiasco. It's coming out a year after it hit the arcades, exactly when it was originally expected.

Yeah, after what has already happened, I cannot even get excited about this game at all.

If it does come out, cool. I'm there.

But I ain't holding my breath.

whoever said that they were thinking about trading in the DC is an idiot, games like Shenmue 2, Skies of Arcadia, MOTW make me want to own a DC, IMO Shenmue 2 was the best game ever created, man the atmosphere was great in that game... :)

Somehow I get a good feeling it'll be released, but I ain't exactly holding my breath, either. Hopefully NCS' next update is some kind of an official confirmation.

Either way I guess its still good the game is getting some kind of coverage.

Famitsu's upcoming issue will confirm the Sept 5 release of Ikaruga DC. I hate to say it but I told you so

Ok, call me a newb here but I don't know about this game, looks like a shooter or something (?). But it looks like something I'd be interested in. So could someone fill me in w/ some info on what the game is and what happened last time, etc.

Peace

I am just going to take a "wait and see" stance. Treasure's website is still strangely silent on the matter. There does seem to be a new 23 meg movie for download called Ikaruga Chapter 2 but I can't connect with the server. I don't know if that was the same movie everyone was posting before but I'll let you know. I didn't know Dorimaga was still in print.

Well, if I was at Treasure and saw all the pre-orders it got for the supposed May release, I would release it to. :) Again, I am not going to get excited until someone says they are holding it in their hands though, haha... we got to the release date last time and noone knew what the hell was going on.

Drift King,

I actually had a chance to play it in the arcades and it was pretty solid. The graphics were awesome and the shields play mechanic was pretty cool. It was actually pretty difficult switching shields and trying to remember which one you had activated while dodging bullets. It could get pretty frantic.

The new Dodonpachi update was more enjoyable, but this game was right up there.

Still hoping for a DC release.
