The Ultimate MVS Guide Comming Soon!

Yesterday I got bored so I decided to begin writing a FAQ on the Neo Geo MVS, due to the lack of good ones that answer many newbie owners questions.

I've written a brief history of the NEO GEO and its home version spinoffs, as well as what type of MVS to buy (I recommend a 6-slot of course), how to buy one, and how to get it home! (if they don't deliver!).

I've also written a short explanation of the service mode and dip switches, as well as where to buy carts, and how to maintain/clean them!

I'm still writing the entire list of MVS releases, then I'll publish it at Gamefaqs.com ASAP.

If you guys have any tips on how to clean your MVS cabinet or cartridge slot, feel free to tell me, I might credit you in it ;) .

Bwahahahahhahahahahhaha

Oh my!

Dude, what planet are you living on?

Okay first off..Complete MVS list: this site

Cart Maintenence: <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a>

Wiring: <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a>

Board Types and features: <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a>

Basic FAQ: <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a>

Six slots are *Not* necessarily the best option. In my opinion two slots get you the most bang for the buck.

Oh by the way MVSteve, if your knowledge about the MVs is anythng like your knowledge of the Hyper well, I'm sure your FAQ will fit perfectly at gamefags

Sure does. The guy who is supposed to get the html done so i can start adding content is "too busy" with "more important" things to finish up my little section.

Chill, The FAQ will be ready by Friday.

Just a bit more to do on the Cart List, and I'll be up.

If you have any handy links I could put in the links section, by all means, post them!

All that cutting and pasting is hard work no doubt.

Give me a break.

It won't be a shoddy copy and paste job, (I even took the time to do one of those stupid ascii headers!).

Sure some of my information will be similar to the one on the Neo Geo AES faq page on Gamefaqs, but this is the MVS we're talking about!

And If I was to 'copy and paste' stuff, I would do the right thing and credit the original authors!

In the section of Buying and MVS I refer to my experience in getting one (a big pain in the ass talking to vendors!).

MVS FAQ V1.0:

Q: what is an MVS:

A: <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a>

Q: (Insert all other MVS questions here)

A: <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a>

I've sent the owner of <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a> money a few times. He even sends stuff back! <img src="graemlins/eye.gif" border="0" alt="[Eye]" /> <img src="graemlins/eye.gif" border="0" alt="[Eye]" />

Baaaah!

I can tell most of you didn't want it anyway.

I get the idea already. Ok there you have it, I give in to <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">http://www.hardmvs.com</a> .

My FAQ was in text anyway, and was pretty long and stupid.

I'll post you a half finished copy of mine if you want though ;) . <img src="graemlins/makeface.gif" border="0" alt="[Make Face]" />

I think people should appreciate someone other's work sometimes...

Is it useless? Who cares?

Someone should make a faq on MVS/cabinet stuff.

1. Why does everyone hate 6-slots.
2. Is My MVS dead Or Can i get it repaired.
3. Who/where can i get this part from.
4. How do i play jamma games on my MVS system.
5. Why does the sound, sound like shit on my MVS.
6. How do I add an external volume control to my MVS cab.
7. Where can i find wiring info on CANDY cabs.

and a million other questions that get asked all the time.......

Oh, come on, be gentle! I'm sure MVSteve's FAQ is gonna be great! You know, every day a newbie comes to the Tech support and asks the same questions over and over. That FAQ should cover most of these questions. It would be great if it included supergun information.

Reall, MVSteve, don't listen to this guys, I'll love to see your FAQ, I promise to read it and give you feedback/corrections/whatever.

So I'm looking forward to it. Be sure to post the link here when it's up, OK?

Thanks in advance and good luck.

Yes Except for the fact that this guy is a newbie himself who by the quality of his previous posts knows zilch about the system. If I wanted a poorly written faq about the MVS, I'd read the one by CMullins on gamefaqs.

Oh well, maybe, but we won't know it until we see it. As I said after it's written all the techies out there (including myself) can read it and make corrections/additions. It'll be OK if it just covers the common questions every newbie does. You know, everybody here, in spite of his knowledge now, was a newbie sometime, and that includes you and me.
Let's just give him an apportunity.

I don't see any section about cart maintenence on the <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a> site. <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a> is a bad website, and I recommend that you not visit this website if you know what's good for you. I would like so see a FAQ from MVsteve about the Neo Geo MVS because the <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a> site is so bad. I would recommend for you're FAQ MVsteve that you not link to the <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a> website, because it is such a bad website and people may think your dumb for linking to the <a href="http://www.hardmvs.com" target="_blank">www.hardmvs.com</a> website. Thanks for you're time.
