I've seen a lot of stuff flying around a couple lists about KOF 2001 already in the works by brezzasoft. The posts always die quickly so I just assumed it was a bunch of bunk. Does anyone have a real scoop? I'd really love to know if there really is going to be a KOF 2001 or if we have seen the last of our beloved Kyo and Iori.

There are a lot of rumours about this... I believe we will see one last installment of KOF... Then, who knows, I have a feeling that it will be the last Neo Geo game though... Especially with Capcom Vs SNK 2, Garou: MOTW 2 and others slated for Naomi or Naomi 2 hardware. I guess we will have to wait and see, but I really believe we will see a new KOF by the end of the year.

Since when is MOTW 2 coming out on Naomi. Where can I find this news!?

Oh yeah, Capcom should just purchse the SNK intellectual property ala WWF buying WCW and make us all so happy that we die. Die like SNK.

Check the madman's cafe... they always have pretty good connections on this stuff, and they have said on multiple occasions that it looks like MOTW 2 is going to be Naomi based

If Snk can get MOTW results off of the old mvs hardware, just imagine what they could do on the Naomi.

What's wrong with Naomi?? It's awesome hardware, and does 2-D flawlessly. Seen Guilty Gear X?

That's not the point. Garou is on Neo Geo. It's sequel should be on Neo Geo. It's just like Resident Evil being on Dreamcast. i know that DC can do better gfx than PS, but they should stay loyal to the platform. I also know that Resident Evil: Code Veronica is coming to PS2 after all, but the situation is very different when dealing with the Neo and the Naomi. I only like my Neo fighting games on my Neo not a PS or Naomi or DC. Garou is for Neo. I don't care how many extra features you put on the DC version of KOF 99, i'm still going to play the Neo version. If they put Garou on the Naomi I'm gonna flip. I'd be so angry.

BTW, i'd rather have them not produce a sequel at all than put one on Naomi. It's just not right.

Uhh thats pretty silly man. Why not put it on Naomi? Itd have the same great gameplay but with much better visuals. "Loyal to platform" thats ridiculous. The Neo Geo is cool because of the games not the games cool cuz of the Neo Geo.

Oh yeah Resident Evil also apeared on the Saturn and RE2 on N64.

Well, I understand where you are coming from. Why not keep all games exclusive? Because great games like Last Blade and MOTW can reach a greater audience on other platforms.

I love the Neo, don't get me wrong. But think how few we Neo gamers actually are compared to the rest of the world! Shouldn't other gamers get a chance to play a great game like MOTW? Maybe they never saw a Neo, aren't on the net, or couldn't afford $400 for one game anyways...

You could almost compare it to Sega. As a loyal Sega supporter back from the Master System days, and a loyal DC supporter, I don't like the idea of their best titles going to other platforms. If people want to play the games, they should buy a Sega system, right? Well I used to think that way, but I would rather see Crazy Taxi on PS2 than see Sega disappear forever.

Most importantly, remember this: They's just games man!

Who cares about the Naomi or the dreamcast. Make some games for a system that people actually own. Since most of Capcoms new arcade effort is going to the Sony 256 board I say SNK should do the same. The 256 board is much more powerful than the Naomi 2. But lets hope they don't recycle the same sprites from the old games!

I almost forgot that SNK is exclusive to the Playstation 2 so that means they would HAVE to go with the 256 board since its pretty much the same hardware.

My sentiments exactly Charles. Anyone remember the Capcom Collection for the Saturn? How freaking awesome were those games? Is the Saturn a Capcom machine, no. Is The Last Blade: Final Edition a kick-ass game, yes! Is it the real Neo Geo version? Hell, no! There will never be a "real" Neo game unless it is for real SNK hardware.

I would love to see an "SNK Collection" for DC, PS2 or, Jesus, even the Game Cube. Wouldn't it be great to have excellent ports of SNK's greatest for the masses to enjoy? Capcom vs. SNK is a fantastic Naomi port, so why can't Garou 2 or possibly (gasp!) The Last Blade 3 or SamSho 5 be ported on a powerful platform? Guys, if you've played Guilty Gear X, you know how fucking awesome a new Neo game would be!

I am a hardcore Neo enthusiast like the next guy, but yelling "Neo games for Neo systems ONLY" is extremely myopic. Face it, SNK is dead and so is Sega, in terms of mainstream consoles. Yet both companies can thrive with superb ports for other systems.

Pffft more powerful then Naomi 2...hahaha. How misled you are.

System 246(I think thats it anyway)
PPS:8 million(yup PS2 will never display more than 8 million)
ram:32MB
vram:4MB

Naomi 2
PPS:10 million
ram:32mb
vram:32mb(model data)
32mb(texture, oh yeah plus 6:1 texture compression=sega says games like VF4 use 125+megs of textures)

PPS=polygons per second

Sure thats mostly 3D specs but the VRAM is very important to 2D games its where all yer animations go. 4mb or 64 mb? you choose.

Oh yeah Naomi 2 architecture should also be easy port to Xbox and Gamecube but not as System 246 wouldnt.

Whoever said Capcoms efforts were going into System 246?
System 246 cant beat Naomi 1 in graphics. Hahaha....

Okay, that's the straw that broke the camel's back! That's the STUPIDEST thing I've ever heard! Thing #1: The Neo (as much as I love it) is dead!

Thing #2: Sega's Naomi board is friggin' awsome!! I've never owned any Sega products, until now, and that's only 'cause of Capcom vs. SNK. A sequel of ANY 2D game on the Naomi board is a blessing. Wouldn't you rather see your favorite characters continue on, instead of becoming memories?

First, Naomi 2 is exactly the same as a normal Naomi board execpt it has an extra chip to seperate its processing power. So how can a system with a 3.2 million pps jump to 10 million "Bull Shit". You have to get it into your head that Sega doesn't give a shit about you. The best system of all time in my books is the Saturn but I don't have any hard feelings about its early demise. Dreamcast can never come close to what Saturn had. I concider Dreamcast one of the biggest failures next to virtualboy.

You can't escape the fact that Naomi 2 board will have an early demise. But, to tell you the truth. I wouldn't be surprised if the arcade business died all together like the pinball business.

Note: I thought nothing could suprise me but when I saw Mr. Walkens dance in a hotel room by himself in that fatboyslim video, it took me off gaurd. Expect the unexpected!

Now that is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard! I dont see how any serious gamer can actually say that the Dreamcast was a failure, let alone next to the VirtualBoy?! So what if it had a short life, doesnt make it a failure necessairly... I'm at a loss of words...
