You would need an MVS board to plug carts into and Neo compatible sticks. Also, if I am not mistaken, all of the multi slot boards have standard Neo controller ports one them (I know my 4 slot does). This will allow you to simply plug in your Neo joystick instead of needing to do any wireingto get the "D" button to work. Standard JAMMA is only three player buttons.

DON'T get a mini one slot, as it does not have controller ports. So, I would say, finds a nice two slot board and start buyin' carts!

You mean the joysticks that comes with the Mas-Systems are not usable to play Neo Geo games?

You can use them, but you'll need an extra button harness for the D.

on that point, I am not sure. here is what I think. If you are using the MAS sticks, my guess is that they are pure JAMMA and plug into the SuperNova directly. If so, they will only have three player buttons.

Now, if you are getting NEO sticks from them (custom or otherwise) I am guessing that they will be the type to plug directly into the MVS board.

Folks that own a SuperNova/Gun would better be able to answer this, but I think this is how they work.

actually, the supernova has controller ports on it, which are wired just like the neos form what ive heard, so you can just se them...but fir the tru neo feeling you should get the 4 button layout o/000 (hey im doing the best i can, its ascii were workin with) and you might have to wire up the 'd' buttin from what i've heard, nothing hard at all

Ok, here's how it works:

The supergun joystick comes with six buttons. Three buttons work through the jamma harness without any wiring. Just plug a game (such as the Neo MVS) into the harness and three buttons will work. The other three buttons need to be wired for any game that uses more than three buttons (like Neo). The Supergun has a connector attached which can activate the three extra buttons on the Supergun joystick. Any Jamma game that uses more than three buttons will have a connector on the PCB to wire up the extra buttons. So to get the 4th button on the Neo to work, you need to wire it to the super gun connector, a simple task. Alternately, if you buy a two or more slot Neo MVS board, it will come with a joystick port. Then you can plug a standard Neo controller into that port and no need to wire up button four. Hope that helps.

Or you could buy a Sigma like the one I own.

As for the rumors that it doesnt have S-Video, you can buy a S-Video cord which I was unaware of. The Sigma has TWO Neo-Geo controller ports built in to it. The thing is awesome. Cabs are a waste of money unless you are a collector. I'm currently looking at a Type 2 with a 10 inch LCD.

There's a cab like that on ebay right now. Be prepared to pay a lot for it though.
