I am soon going to be getting a MVS 2 slot along with a Super Nova because I simply don't have room for a full sized arcade. My question is I can't afford another RGB monitor (I had one before from Mas but my Father sold it without telling me <IMG SRC="smilies/mad.gif" border="0"> ) so would a Sony Wega w/s-video be comparable?? I want to build a small custom cab and want to get the 20 inch Wega w/s-video but am curious as to what peoples opinion are on the Wega as I have seen alot of them in the collection pictures.

they are excellent t.v.'s
the toshiba flat tubes are great as well(they use most of the stuff thats in A vega)
the flat tube improves edge corection, dot crawl, and other aspects resulting in A very sharp and vivid picture.

Yeah, I got a 36" WEGA, it's a great TV, I would recommend it to anyone who could afford it (and I noticed the price IS decreasing, which is good).

Positives:
Composite video
S-Video plugs in the front
Great for DVD's and games

Negatives:
regular cable signal still looks "funny" (not distorted, but something looks odd)
Unit's weight (I needed 3 other guys to help me load the thing into my wall unit, while I plugged in the cables)
Can't flip vertically... (you probably can, but with my current situation above)
Sound sucks

There are more things, but seeing the clarity of an older videogame and watching a DVD on it are both pretty neat to see

Anyone got HDTV???

I have a WEGA and it is awesome. But you can do just as good if not better for less money.
Go to a few good audio/video stores (Tweeter has some nice TVs) and compare.

If your gonna go buy a 30+ inch TV, you might as well buy an arcade monitor and make a casing for it. You can get a 25 inch BRAND NEW wells gardner from happcontrols.com for about 500.

IMO s-video sucks, I don't see any huge difference from composite, they both look the same to me!

If you want the best picture possible for your arcade games on your nova, GET an RGB monitor, you will not regret it.

Make a wood casing to house your monitor like mass systems does, and you'll be all set, no big cab taking up room either.

Bluto: My advice to you is to start drinking heavily.
Otter: Better listen to him, Flounder. He's pre-med.

I just purchased a 36" WEGA for $999.00 and there's a large difference between it and my pervious 32" JVC.

I am just trying to find a small 19 or 20 inch TV that I could use for my mini cab. After checking out Happs though I might buy one of those 19 inch monitors. I don't know how to realy make a box for it but intill I do I am going to hook up the Nova (when I get it) to my 53 inch tv. Anywhere I can find instructions for building a box for a monitor???
