upon sending an email to samariX, i got an email back contianing the W32.Badtrans.13312@mm virus, or worm, upon closer inspection of this virus i noticed it sends itself to all unread emails, mine included, i know he didnt do it on purpose (im hoping at least). Be warned from any of these pid files floating through the neo geo community.

Hi guys,
I noticed this thing this morning. It is nasty, it infected all of my computers with my e-mail address on them. I subsiquintly formatted all of my computers to start anew. I hope this was not to distributed to many or any forumn members. I apologise if it did, I was unaware. :( I will transfer to a new e-mail account and try to make double sure that it doesn't return. I apologise again.

No kiddin big O. I think I got this last night sometime, the first I noticed anything strange was when beshawn e-mailed me, my outlook express started to freak. It started sending messages to me from myself. It attached itself to each of my e-mails. beshawn, make sure you check your computer for viruses, (I originally thought that I got it from you now I have no clue where it came from). I have run Norton update and scanned for viruses and I havent seen anything yet so I think everything is cool now.

NSX-T: The virus (worm) attaches itself to your computer and imbeds itself in the following files:
KERN32.EXE
hksdill.dll
INETD.EXE
From there it attaches itself to all the e-mails you send out. On my computer it started messing up my e-mails and each e-mail I received said it was from me even though it was really from someone else. I don't know if it would have caused any other damage if time progressed but I hope I nipped it in the bud so to speak. let me know if anyone want more info...

Nope i dont use outlook express, Outlook Express automatically opens certian types of attatchments, also my e-mail is somewhat private, as it came with my isp service rather than a free service. I never opened the attachment you sent (by accident), i assure you have gotten the virus (worm) from someone else.

Heh, it's due to incidents such as this one that I'm glad I use my university's IMAP based e-mail system that automatically scans all incoming mail for virus "infected" file attachments! <IMG SRC="smilies/biggrin.gif" border="0">
