You just described a bootlegged MOTW cart.

There's half of your problem.

To change the settings flip down dip switch one. After changing the settings flip up dip switch 1.

Bootleg versions aren't always easy to identify. One of the best ways is to open up the cart and look for the snk logo on the pcbs. No logo = bootleg.

This has been covered in detail in several other posts. Just search on "bootleg Garou" and you'll find all the relevant information, its quite interesting.

And yes, your post would have been better in Tech Support or Neo Geo 16-bit sections. But its no problem, takes time to figure all this out . . .

thanks guys, and i had thi MOTW for months now almost a year and i just noticed this about the last character, but what if you buy on ebay or something it wouldnt make any difference if someone lies to you saying its original then to find out its not , btw- my MOTW case is clear blue, do color cases mean anything between real and boot?

Hold on, hold on, hold on. You cart does NOT sound like a bootleg cart. A bootleg/proto cart ALWAYS has Kain as the end boss and the after defeating Kain, goes to a screen that says "Coming Soon...," meaning the endings are coming soon. The fact that you are even getting credits after fighting Grant by default means you have a legit cart. The reason you have yet to see Kain is because...well...you suck. j/k

Actually, to get to Kain and see the endings, you need to AVERAGE a AAA rating on all of the rounds you have won. If you loose rounds, that's ok. You just have to AVERAGE a AAA on your victory rounds. So, the fact that you are fighting Grant and the game is ending means that you for sure have a real cart and that you need to practice.

If you have any more questions, ask away.

My apologies. I read up to the point of no endings and immediately jumped on the bootleg wagon. Thanks Ryogeo.

Personally and I know this is a bad stance... but I have no problem with the thought of owning a bootleg cart... I just wouldn't want to have shelled out legit prices for it...

there's a major difference between just any bootleg and the MOTW bootleg.
the MOTW bootleg is actually a beta, which means: you get NONE of the very well drawn endings, a whole bunch of graphics glitches, and a way, way easy final boss (takes the fun outta it). also, some music and/or instruments are missing, and supposedly some moves are not available in the beta yet.
I got both the original and the beta, and trust me, I ain't touching the bootleg anymore since I got the original (2 days later :P)
