1nph3ri0r 90rt WARNING!!!!

(From Magic Box)
Playmore will release The King of Fighters 2002 in japan on June 19th.

I for one, thought it would take a little longer than that. Kudos to Playmore.

Playmore keeps 'em rolling fast!
That's a damn fast turn around, I was figuring sometime in the fall at the earliest. Kudos to Playmore.

I just noticed the price increase to Y6800. Both 2k and 2k1 were Y5800, i wonder what's up with the price increase? they better give us an arranged soundtrack to make up for it drool

I'm sure there's a justifiable reason why no release date has been set yet for KOF 2001 on the PS2. My guess is Playmore realizes the game probably won't fare too well in the PS2 market, and as such, has decided to rework the graphics, character art, BGs, and music in order to make it more suitable for mainsteam gamers (think of it as a "Director's Cut" of KOF 2001, sort of what KOF '99 Evolution was like for the Dreamcast). I figure Playmore hasn't come up with a solid release date as of yet because they're giving the game a complete overhaul (I guesstimate it won't be released until November, but I could be wrong).

Anyways, enough about that rant. I'm pleased that KOF 2002 will be released just in time for Garfield's 25th birthday. I hope they throw in a whole bunch of extras (like a puzzle mini-game and an art gallery), a couple hidden characters not found in the arcade/home cart, an arranged soundtrack, and a killer cover by Hiroaki. One thing worries me, though; it took SNK nearly seven months to release KOF '99 Evolution for Dreamcast after its' AES release; this time, it looks like Playmore's only going to need six months from the time of its' initial AES release to get the job done (which could mean a lack of extras). But hey, if worse comes to worse, I can always pray those same extras make it to the PS2 release.

Edit: Port predictions added. See link below:

This is great, I think I've finnally decided that its better to buy the DC or PS2 port of most Neo games instead of splurging the cash on a new MVS kit in order to "support Playmore".

This way I can enjoy the game, and then when the price for a bare cart drops to a reasonable level, then I can pick up the actual Neo version.

I'd actually like to know when the PS2 release is as I figure it'd be better to support those releases as its a current system thats actually alive. Either way I'll just have to wait for it to come out, till then I'll have to enjoy the game in "other" methods.

Peace
