Let's hope that Capcom doesn't decide to take another dump on the SNK characters this time round.

If Capcom vs SNK 2 plays anything like Marvel vs Capcom 2, I am swimming to Japan to kick some ass.

One thing sucked bigtime about CvS... the lack of HaohMaru... Capcom also should have take more of a cue from MOTM on NGPC... that game beats CvS anyday hands down...

In my opinion they need to do a few certain things to really pull CvS2 back into the MotM we all love. First off they need to add more characters. Snk should take characters from games they have never done with before. For example: Shock Troopers, Samurai Showdown, Last Blade, Art of Fighting,Puzzle Games, and some of their sports series characters (like capcom did in rival schools with the sports themed fighters.) In addition capcom needs to turn the tides also. Any old capcom games like on the nes and such should have their characters put on. Lastly even though lots of people love Street Fighter and KOF characters we can have some, but its sorta overhall if theres so many. Like in Marvel vs. Capcom it was almost all Street Fighter Characters. In CvS it was almost like Street Fighter vs. KOF. WE NEED MORE CHARACTERS THAT HAVEN'T BEEN USED BEFORE PEOPLE!!!

I'd love to see Arthur from Ghouls and Ghosts etc... I know he made an appearance as a helper character in MvC2 but that wasnt good enough. What about Nemesis from the Resident Evil series? What about setting up Raguy against MegaMan heh... how cool would it be to be able to play Magician Lord characters in the fighting genre... some sweet sweet possibilities here if they simply look past the obvious choices... maybe I should do a Magician Lord char for KOF91

CvS should ONLY be Street Fighter universe and KOF universe characters.

Has anyone ever asked if Shock Troopers characters could beat Cannon Spike characters? No. And that's the whole point of CvS to begin with. The question of 'WHO WOULD WIN'.

I would LOVE to see an expertly played Andy vs. Ken match. But Fio versus Rebecca Chambers? Now, I like Metal Slug and Resident Evil just fine, but does ANYBODY care about matchups like these, involving obscure characters?

No.

That's my request to Capcom and SNK.

KOF universe (FF/AOF/KOF characters) and SF universe (SF/Final Fight/Rival Schools) characters only, please.

Yea but they could be uniuqe characters to play. Maybe the only way people will find out about these characters is by playing them in CvS2. How do you know that its not gonna be cool to have Milky fighting Rolento?? As for your yearning for match-up fights i have an idea. As i can see by your avatar you must be a fan of Sword of the Beserk. Well being an anime fan myself i think they should have animated cinemenas when certain characters are matched up. It would be cool and for all those people who loved the cut scene in KOF this would be a chance to really see what SNK artists can do. And arthur was in Marvel Vs. Capcom as a striker( or whatever they are called in the capcom world. )

But at this point, why find out about characters that aren't important? Why should a fighting game, for example, promote less popular platform game main characters like Arthur from Ghosts and Goblins? There's no reason for it, and as Marvel Versus Capcom sucks I'd rather the game developers focus on WHY CvS was created to begin with...because people want to see Terry fight Ryu and other such dream matchups. Having obscure characters from the game companies match up (which Capcom has done anyway with entrants Eagle and Todo, for example) doesn't do anything to help the game's mystique or fan appeal.

And yes, I like anime somewhat .

You are obviously missing our point by a mile Taiso... no everyone bought CvS JUST because they wanted to see SF2 vs KOF. That is one cool aspect but personally I think it could get alot better. It is pretty obvious that it is just your OPINION that Marvel V Capcom sucked. From the lines in my arcade when it came out it is pretty obvious that the unique matching of characters you have never seen in fighters before appealed to one hell of a lot of players. I played the damn game almost exclusively so I could play Mega Man and Strider. I personally thought it was a stroke of brilliance to breathe new life into the old franchises because if you are older than 15 there is a damn good chance you played alot of those games. I remember slugging tons of quarters into Strider when the game was brand spankin new.

I think to say that CvS should only be SF2 v KOF is to sell short two great franchises. If that is all that is wanted then fine petition Capcom to create Street Fighter V King Fighters or something like that. But when you say Capcom V SNK there is alot more at stake than just two franchises. People have never put alot of the supporting characters only because they havent... not because people dont like them enough to see them play a more public staring role. The NeoGeo did quite well before the existense of King of Fighters and would still be an amazing system had it never existed. I feel the same way about Capcom... without Street Fighter it would still have a great lineup of games.

To say in away "Dont mess with it cause it should be SF2 V KOF, and that is the way I like it" is being obtuse. I know that isnt exactly how you said it at anytime but that is basically the idea you were conveying.

Not trying to start a flame war here I am just trying to make sure you realise that there is a valid point to wanting those lesser knowns in a fighting game. If you keep drawing from the same pool the games become stagnant. Look at all those damn rehashes of SF2 for example and now SF3. The same thing can be said about KOF also... sure the title has evolved into a better and better game but at the same time looking back it seems alot like new games were just released yearly because they were expected much like a EA sports title.

*rasies hand*

Thats is exactly what I wanted out of it.
I hope they keep it clean, & dont place in all those other characters.
Its one of the few games I get to play w/my friends who are serious Streetfighteralpha & 3 fans and use snk characters.
Turn it into another MvsC game, & whats the point?
You may see pics of snk char's on screen,
but their spirit (& moves) will be toast.
Just my 2 cents.

Just my 2cents.

Fine then create a separate game called Street Fighter VS King of Fighters.. because to call it Capcom VS SNK denotes something much grander. I don't know why I am bitching. They have fixed the one thing I felt was missing in CvS which was Haohmaru so I will be happy with whatever the end product is.

One more thing of note... NEVER did I say I wanted the game to PLAY like Marvel V Capcom or Marvel V Capcom 2... I just said that I liked seeing the characters from varried franchises. When did having more characters to play with become a bad thing? It allows you to pick out characters that you really identify with, but at the same time you have to watch it because programmers too readily give characters cheap moves to compete with seasoned developed characters instead of taking the time to really engineer the new characters well.

No, what I mean is instead of taking out all the existing characters is keep the ones everyone likes and ADD A HELLUVA LOT MORE!!! In my opinion theres not enough choice you can make with todays fighting games. Capcom and Snk could make a pretty penny if they do this because then it would have great replay value. I mean you may be good with a select few characters but why not try new ones, since it's a whole new view on gameplay. I know you are harcore and all and will be always addicted to your certain snk/capcom fighters but all i'm saying add some new things. I don't know about you all but frankly i'm getting real sick of the same formula over and over. Both great companies need to use their minds to come up with another great system and set a new standard for fighting games.

I am not missing your point at all. I respect your point. I just have a different one is all, and I'm not being different just to argue. I don't care about non SF and KOF universe characters if a game crosses the two companies over. This seemed like the thread to voice that opinion since it came up.

I respect your right to tell me what you think. It's simply a matter of taste. You like the extra non SF/KOF characters, I don't. I know where you're coming from. But it's not the same point of origin as mine, that's all .

You point is cool and all too... I just think that there would be a large market for the kind of crossover game I am talking about. I cared about Capcom and SNK long before Street Figher and KOF respectively existed so I get nostalgic about the old characters. Even you have to admit that the potential of having Magician Lord as a playable fighter could be cool

Exter I do think we think alike, but Taiso has a point and I think for people like him they should just make a StreetFighter Vs. King of Fighters--Like they did with Streetfighter vs. Marvel and X-men Vs. Streetfighter
