I was wondering if there are any arcade systems which work in a similar way like the MVS does? So far I know of CPS2 and TAITO's F3 system.... Are there any others?
Are these any good?

CPS 1 and 3 do too, although cps 1 games almost never come without bottom (mother) board.. cps3 uses carts and CDs to upload the game into the flashrom of the mainboard. there's also some japanese or chinese system that actually looks almost identical to the newstyle 1-slot, but is entirely different hardware, but uses carts too.. not sure about the name.

Actually, the nice thing about the Naomi is that it does not have a GD-ROM, so no worries of lens replacements, or drive replacements down the road. It is just a board to board setup.

Most similar of all: the PolyGameMaster system (PGM) by IGS of Taiwan. Take a look at the pic on this page:
http://kmfdm40.tripod.com/systems2.htm

Cartridge very similar to Neo MVS carts, motherboard very similar to Neo 1-slot new style. Notable games on the system include the Knights of Valour series (very similar to DnD Capcom hack'n slash games, very well done games!), and soon to come DoDonPachi 2.

Here are the same site's reviews of KoV and KoV2:

Speaking of the Poly Game Master, there's a game on the official IGS (makers of the system) website called 'Martial Masters' which seems to be a one-on-one fighting game. Unfortunately there's only some drawn pictures of the characters but no in-game screenshots. Anybody here seen this game in action or know anything about it? Take note that I'm not mistaking this for the KOV series, it's a seperate game and can be obtained from Hong Kong arcade vendors for $300 to $400 (and at that rather steep price I'm kinda weary to snap it up myself, the cheap cowardly bastard I am x()).

ST-V is a sega saturn with carts.
CPS-2 is comparable, it's what all the capcom fighters used to run on.. xmen vs streetfighter, streetfighter alpha 1-3, alien vs predator, etc.

So which system could be a good alternative to good old MVS? How does the TAITO F3 board compares gfx wise to the MVS? I know its has a couple of shooters...

Don't forget the Alec64.... yes it's based on the n64. Only four games exist for this platform... excluding mickey's magical tetris. Avoid this system like the plague or a freaked cart.

dont forget the sega mega tech (mastersystem) and the mega play (genesis) boards.

there is the naomi gd-rom attachment which works with naomi 1 and 2. some games are: Confidential Mission
Dynamic Golf / Virtua Golf
Sports Jam
Street Fighter Zero 3 Upper
Virtua Golf / Dynamic Golf

I got Martial Master and I have to say it is a pretty sweet game. Don't except any innovations on gameplay or graphics, but it is a really solid 2D fighting game with some awesome character animation and personality. The graphics looks like it was ripped right from the Last Blade series, but with better animation. The characters are pretty diverse and comboing is what this game is really about. I thinks most people would think it was a SNK game by the way it looks and plays (4 buttons), however there is some Capcom SF-type moves and supers. The only thing that really makes this game somewhat different is the comboing system. You can chain some special moves after another and finish with a super and stuff like that, which makes for interesting combos. Speed varies from moves to moves, so execution is important. You would need to start with a quick jugging move and chain it with a special move to a harder hitting special or finish with super.
Anyway, I'll try to upload some screenshots and maybe a .avi or something soon.
