This sounds strange.
First I didn't know thatyou can be auto-canceled on ebay.
Second it's strange that there is no reserve price for such an huge colection.

Tonk is always bidding on huge auctions... Wonder if it will go up high since there are so many NGF haters?

Is TonK rich so he wins every big auction that shows up or he always is the runner up and we see him being the highest bidder due to this fact?

I noticed that NGF did the "correct" genre coloring of the MVS stickers to match their "corrected" AES cart stripes............NGF aside.....that is a nice collection of MVS carts.

Why do we even post this shit here? I guess ppl talk bad about NGF and still buy from them.

I shouldn't even waste my time typing this reply.

Good point djbomberman. To me, they ruined the carts by adding their fake "NGF Signature Labels" to all the carts. I'd much rather have the original MVS labels on the carts, and not their fake crap. As usual, the NGF "merchandise" is easy to avoid, having been tainted by their fat egos . . .

Warning! There is a (not very well) hidden meaning in the following sentence:

I just read the auction, nice, NGF gets a leg up by selling all the older MVS carts with KOF 2K1 to boot.

Thanks for all the positive emails regarding this fantastic auction. I just wanted to supply links to the "BEFORE" pis of this collection:

http://www.ngfusa.com/mvs/shelf1.jpg
http://www.ngfusa.com/mvs/shelf2.jpg
http://www.ngfusa.com/mvs/shelf3.jpg
http://www.ngfusa.com/mvs/shelf4.jpg

The carts seen in this pic are very typical of what you find on the MVS market, yellowed stickers, jap stickers, crummy printed fake stickers.

Converting them all to Signature Series MVS Labels, has made this a collection of a lifetime for the MVS gamer.

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1326635318

Check out the auction and see for yourself. I cant imagine what the artbook alone would fetch on ebay! Most of the games I have both the English and Japanese art included.

Thanks,

ChrisR

Thanks for the before pics, Chris. Just confirms that I'd rather have them as they originally were, whether the labels are original English or Asian. The only labels that would be acceptable to remove would be the cheap photocopied ones that come on many bare carts . . . but looking at your pics, the majority of carts had original labels. Another load of Neo stuff RUINED BY NGF.

It looks like NGF did more than just replace labels. It seems that all of the carts are in black cases. What happened to the original carts... the red, clear, amber, white, light green, etc. I shudder to think of what horrible thing happened to those original items.

Looks like TonK is bidding high! Go TonK Go!

This is an amazing collection. I personally adore the NGF labels for MVS carts, and changing the cases over is a nice touch too. Man I wish I could come up with more cash...

No one seems to find strange that the auction has no reserve price for such an important selling

I say rock on. I don't really care for NGF's other business practices, but I like what they do to their MVS carts. You don't mention how many of those carts are official/bootlegged though NGF, what's the deal? Is it a suprise to the lucky high bidder? On that note, someone should tally up the overall eBay value of this auction, then we can compare it to the final results. Please note that most complete insert sets go for $0.50 - $2.00, only the most desireable/new/rare inserts begin to approach the $10 mark. That book will still fetch a nice chunk of change (but again, you fail to mention if these are official inserts or reprints, and if you are only missing a few why not list the inserts your're missing?)

I'm in the process of personalizing my MVS collection with my own brew of consistant carts and labels.

Thanks again for the replies. I did go through and switch out all the colored cases for Black ones, because it definatley looks better. The older clear and white cases are just horrible most of the time.

DJbomberman - I checked and have the japanese versions of the art only for Neo Bomberman. I do have full english art for Neo Mr. Do, Pop and Bounce, Pleasure goal, and tons of others. I think Dion has English bomberman art, I would have to ask him. The artbook is 95% complete, with about 60-70% having 2 or 3 versions of the art(Jap, English, Spanish).

The way the carts are presented(all black cases, uniform labels), is the best way I thought they would look. Anyone that gets crazy over MVS carts is fooling themselves. MVS is meant to be played and enjoyed, and enhancing the looks of the carts by putting new lables on them really makes the collection IMO.

People have gotted so crazy over collectability of anything Neo Geo, even MVS carts are not immune. As much as people dont want to beleive it, I think the prices in the Neo Geo collectors market right now are just too high.

For someone with the financial resources, this is the find of the century. I would estimate it took me years and many trips to Japan to get this collection and the art. Someone gets to snatch it up all in one shot.

Thanks,

ChrisR

Chris,

FYI, Neo Bomberman MVS was a Japanese only release. Hence, artwork is in Japanese.

According to the "price guide" even on the low end of the prices the collection is worth in the neighborhood of $9,760 WOW

The above coming from a person who's mad a living off of creating that "everything neo geo is RARE" mindset.
NGF,you want it ALL don't you? MONEY plus the FAME...but instead of earning it,you "get off" on trying to TAKE IT...

Posting the largest MVS auction on eBay is some sort of "high" to you is'nt it??
You are a sick..sick..sick clump of warm DNA.

This is the only one I have ever seen. It's from the one I sold earlier this year:

Chris your a raging homo, and stay away from this auction, all the artwork is probably stamped, and Dion probably opened every cart and signed his name in gold pen along with a picture of him and chris riding the greek sadle.

"PAYMENT MUST BE RECIEVED WITHIN 5 BUSINESS DAYS"

I like that Chris, how come you can't even get people their stuff in 5 monthes sometimes? Fucking scammer.

Anyone who reads this thread, Chris Ray and Dion are SCAMMERS, they will steal your money, do NOT bid on their auctions! They are crooks, and should be doing jailtime any year now.
