YES. He has shared with us MVS cartridge owners 7,YES... seven cool Inserts!!!
These inserts are sized to fit the SHOCK BOX ONLY!! SHOCK HQ will -NEVAH- provide AES insert images for DL or any other documentation common to the scene so that "linking leechers" can create websites stealing our bandwidth and giving us no credit!
If you wish to create an MVS site and link the SHOCK BOX inserts...please make sure you tell your traffic that these inserts are specifically sized to fit the SHOCK BOX Only & NOT AES cases...
Please excuse the site @ the moment as I am giving it an overhaul. To any Insert designers reading this,if your archive is incomplete or screwed up I will be correcting the situation within 24 hours.
Where's the link?? PLEASE SUPPORT the neo-geo.com glossary.
More to come in the future!
Thankyou-BB

Great new inserts. A question though:

Any of you insert creators work with material strictly available on the net? I would like to design a few SHOCK inserts (kind of busy with other MVS projects right now though) but alas, I don't have access to official inserts or a scanner.

All that stuff for my inserts came from the net. <a href="http://www.vgmuseum.com" target="_blank">www.vgmuseum.com</a> is great when you go to the game scans section. They have AES inserts scanned in for most games. So i used some of them as a base, as well as other places online that had decent higher res pics. You just have to cut and paste what you want for it, and clean the hell out of them cause they're messy/bad scans (the rubber stamp tool is god myfriend). My SS2 insert was almost all art from other places.

BTW, some good hints, the font for Neo Geo that they use on the spine is just Arial Bold. I think it's the same for the numbers in the megs count. Also when you put that stuff in there (the numbers) if you're using photoshop have the layer cast a drop shadow, cause that's the affect SNK used when they did it.

I can help you out if you want to do some inserts for shock boxes, just drop me an email.

Peace

JHendrix

Hey does anyone have a collection of high quality inserts scanned? I remember about a year ago someone was selling a CD with all the inserts scanned on it.

Dude, same place: <a href="http://www.vgmuseum.com" target="_blank">www.vgmuseum.com</a>

And most artwork SNK did for it's AES covers is available as a stand alone image you can find online relatively easily (google is god for this sorta thing). So all it takes is some Photoshop finnese and A LOT of tedious clean up if it's a bad scan which is often the case.

Oh yeah, and if you use a AES insert as a base, make sure to retype the text when you scale it up to the new resolution! This way you can read it when you print it, which is always a helpful thing. :)

Hey JHendrix..
Are the inserts meant to be cut as one piece or 3? I know it's one file...
Also, I didn't see the Blazing Star insert.. Any chance to get that posted sometime soon? :D

You must print J's inserts out on a professinal printer that uses 11 x 17 sheets of paper and cut the printout as one piece
I suggest you take the images to Kinko's on a zipdisk and have them printed out.
I believe the Blazing Star insert is the one created by Dave White.
I did'nt list him or his insert in the menu yet..
