I was wondering about the A/V cables that come with the AES system. Are they mono (yellow and white input only) or stereo (yello, red, and white)? Or are both offered with different packages?

I would think mono would totally suck. Anyone have mono video cables and think they're fine?

Much appreciated!

I never got AV cables w/ my Neo Geo. Neo Geo has only mono sound (unless you get it modified to streo from Jeff), so I would assume that it comes w/ only white & yellow cable. Having an extra Red wouldn't make any differnce (But Jeff made me an excellent gold tip composite AV cable w/ the Red plug at my request--I guess I want to upgrade mine to Streo when I get another Neo Geo system)

There is a A/V cable that is stereo. The stereo part plugs into the headphone jack.
Probably very difficult to find this.

I would get it modded to have stereo out the back and S video for best picture

A pillar of knowledge as usual MTB. How are finals going for you? I have three next week and can't wait for them to be over. Come friday, I will be in video gaming bliss!! Oh I'm getting anxious.

I could not tell if this is orginal no marking. I got this with my Japanese
cart system. And.... one end plugs into the 5 pin din of the neo with a short wire headphone plug and yellow(composite), white and red (stereo) plugs out.

Wish I had a picture of this.

Finals... Aside from a lab practical, I have one in the 15th & 16th (Sat). I am also moving to a diff place on the 14th- 15th. Combine that w/ backed up assignments and all... Actually I shoudn't comlain, because I really don't study. I deserve it to some extent. Now my little brother is in Medical school studying like crazy.

Yeah, I can't wait to be over, too. KOF 2000!

If you go to Radio Shack you can get an adapter that will turn the headphone out into a stereo audio out. I'm not sure how this would work though. I have one but I haven't tried it, but I'm sure it would be cheaper than looking for something made for the Neo Geo.

The cable you mentioned is difficult to find, but you can substitute this with a mini plug to stereo Y adapter (available in quantity at your local Best Buy), plug it into the Neo cart's headphone jack, attach a set of stereo cables to it, and you'll be good to go. =) For better sound results, you might want to have your system modded by Jeff Kurtz; everybody raves about his craftsmanship!

I have my Neo hooked up with a common Y adapter from radio shack and it works great.

I have mono cables and don't really complain at all.

While the headphone jack is in stereo, the sound goes through a 25¢ amp from what I have been told, so as everyone suggests, sell your little brother to the navy and get you system modified with the money.
