Interview with SNK HK
SNK Hong Kong re-open declare:
Thank you for supporting SNK all the time.

SNK ASIA LTD closed tow years ago. Very sadly, the parent company SNK Japan also fall apart in Oct. last year. But then, PLAYMORE bought all the trademark and copyright of SNK in Dec. 2001. And fortunately, now PLAYMORE determines that they will not only support NEOGEO platform, but also release new console games.

Furthermore, PLAYMORE will set up subsidiary company in Hong Kong to substitute for the former SNK ASIA LTD. Here are the new company's names:

English: SNK NEOGEO HONG KONG CO.LTD

Chinese: 新大地香港有限公司/ New Land Hong Kong CO.LTD (temporary)

PLAYMORE CORPORATION
SNK NEOGEO H.K CO.LTD

Here is the interview with SNK HK made by GAME NEXT ( A Hong Kong video game magazine):

- So any new plans after PLAYMORE got all the copyright of SNK's products?

Five new arcade game scheduled in 2002, also at least two new console games.

- Will the subsidiary companies be set up soon?

Yes! Besides parent company in Japan, we will also set up subsidiary companies in Hong Kong, Korea, USA. As you see above, the subsidiary company in Hong Kong has been named as SNK NEOGEO HONGKONG CO.LTD.

- Have you finished the instauration of SNK HK?

In fact, still in process. PLAYMORE want us to finish all the work in January. The new company will be at Emplacement Hill temporarily. And we will move around June for further drumbeating work.

- Talk about the area of your work?

Just as before, the copyright, sale, drumbeating of our/SNK production. Some campany fished in troubled waters when SNK disbanded. They will take full responsibility for it.

- What new game in the future?

Just as I said, five new arcade game this year, but I can not disclose their names. The first game will be announced in January , and released in February.

- METAL SLUG 4! Right? 'Cause some sites have already reported it.

Still can not tell you more... (reporter: to my experience, when the delegate of SNK HK do not negate, it will mean truth.)

- What else game after that?

A bran-new fighting game in May.

- Will it be old series of SNK?

Hmm... Can not disclose more...

- Talk about the past. It was said that some production came to an untimely end...

Right. New series of Garou was under development as early as the year 2000. Samurai Shodown was also in conception that time. But they came to an untimely end because of the affair last year.

- That must mean it will be new series of Garou or Samurai Shodown (in May)?

(Laugh) I did not tell that. (reporter: he affirmed with a laugh. HAHA, bingo!)

- Well, about the most regardful one - KOF2002, how is it going?

It is already under development by EOLITH. Having gain the experiences of KOF2001, EOLITH should make it more excellent. Now it is scheduled on September this year. And of course, arcade first.

- So, there will be drumbeating like before?

Yeah! Just as we did before. We will start to prepare around June. And plan to hold a KOF2001 tournament at Hong Kong Comic Exhibition to salute the KOF2002.

- Besides the game of KOF, what about KOF comic? who will you co-operate with this time?

We will co-operate with Xiongshi Company this time. The artists will be Yong Ren and Jing Dong. They have never been concerned with KOF comic, but I think there will be much more fresh feeling.

- So it is scheduled on...

To make it as good as we can, we plan at the end of February. It will be enough time for us to make it perfect.

- How many issues of the Comic?

About 36 issues.

Addition: Companies related to SNK

PLAYMORE-- Own all the copyrights of SNK now
BREZZASOFT-- Part of developing of SNK games and oversea publishment
SUN AMUSEMENT-- Publishment of SNK games in Japan
EOLITH-- Got licenses of KOF2001/2002
UNOTAC-- KOF Online
MEGA ENTERPRIS-- METAL SLUG 4

KoF2k2 for arcade first? Does that mean a possibility of a home cart release? :D

HOORAY! I hope this means we'll be seeing some officially licensed SNK Neo-Geo merchandise (I'd love to see a KOF 2001 wall scroll, or maybe a Metal Slug model kit).

Yes, Last Blade 3 would be so tired (2 and 1 were almost the same game), a new Samurai 2-D game is long overdue, if it's between Samurai and Last Blade, LB can suck it.

It's been 6 years now since the last 2-D Samurai game, it's due. While there at it how about World heroes 3.

As much as I love the last Blade series, I have to agree a new Samurai Shodown game is way long overdue. That series was one of SNK's big money makers back in the day and is probably the most reconized title ever produced on the Neo. :D

IMHO Toy Tribe/kaiyodo would be way better! McFarlane do some cool stuff, but they messed up some of those anime figures pretty bad. Toy Tribe did the Trigun 'Planet Gunsmoke' series...and I gotta say that the Nicholas D Wolfwood figure they do is just the greatest!

But like you said, it aint gonna happen

Gotta agree with Bonus here, a Samsho appearance is long overdue. Just think, Shiki & Asra in 2D.....oh man the possibilities are endless...

The last Samurai Shodown was 378 MEGS, what's that tell you?

Last Blade isn't fit to wash Haohmaru's feet...

Hell does anyone remember when Gamefan anounced that SNK was gonna develop a game titled "The king of blades"? It was suposed to be a cross over between Last blade and SS. It was just a bloody rumour.

Yeah, finally more confirmed SNK games! I was starting to get bored with all that rumors about new games but no confirmations except of MS4 and KOF2001.
Anyway, that's bad news to my bank account... ;)
