Real simple post here...just wondering who all, besides myself, is a proud citizen of the great state of TEXAS! I know that there are a lot of us floating around, and I'm thinking about having a neo-classic gaming convention in Dallas or Houston in the next couple of years...renting a hotel lobby and the works. Who knows, it could be the next biggest thing to CGE!

I had actually thought of doing this as well, however I imagine you have more experience in gatherings. Most of my experince comes from attending Anime Cons. That would be pretty Cool for a texas conviention. Just problems with everyone commiting and Showing up

BTW. I live in Houston but travel up to Dallas often and Austin on occasion.

Well, like I said, it's still a ways off...LOTS of planning to do for something like that...and it wouldn't just be for Neo-Geo...it would be for all of the neo-classic systems...but I'm sure that Neo-Geo would be well represented.

Ah...you in the Army? I just got out of the Marine Corps after 6 years.

I live in College Station if anyone knows where that is...it's home of Texas A&M.

I will begin planning for a convention IF you guys promise to help me out...hehe. It won't be until at least after the book is finished, and probably after CGE. How does the Fall sound to everyone? I'll begin planning, and start to put things together over at the VGB site. http://www.videogamebible.com

Holy shit, my girlfriend goes to Texas A&M.
I am only 1.5 hours away from you. I go to school at Baylor.

Small world. Anyway, I would be up for anything.

I'm down for it. I come down to Fort Worth almost every month (mucho family here), so I'll be there. Although I probably wouldn't bring any of my Neo stuff cause everybody already will have everything I do

Mike Said:

Well, she's my girlfriend now...*insert evil laugh here*. Actually, I was surprised myself to find out how small a world Texas actually can be...especially in the game collecting world.

Well, tell everybody what...I guess I should start planning around a date...how about we go for mid October 2002? I know it seems like a long ways off, but it takes a while to get vendors and such together. Any of you guys that know of Neo Geo vendors that would like to show up...let them know, and send them to my website for information. Nothing's posted yet, but it will be shortly.

Also, they can email me. And, as usual, every vendor is welcome from any catagory of gaming. If someone wants to set up shop for their atari 2600 games, they're more than welcome...but I'm going to try and focus on the NES through Saturn area.

Oh, and Mike...if you're ever in town to visit your woman, let me know and we'll get in touch so you can drop by for some gaming.

Oh, and it doesn't HAVE to be Dallas...San Antonio would be a LOT of fun with the river walk and such...or Austin would be just as accessable. Nothing is dead set yet...so keep an ear open, and make your suggestions known over at my board since I really only drop by here once every other day or so...wouldn't want to miss something.

Hey Lost Basura...I'll go ahead and let you know that the Neo-Geo scene is dead here in Brian/College Station, but we've definately got to get together when you show up. I'm looking for some people to help out with the magazine and the VGB guide locally so that it doesn't all rely on my internet connection. Send me an email and I'll get ya my phone number so we can meet up somewhere.
