I met up with TRIEUMINATOR this evening and he was kind enough to let me see the one he has in his possession (great guy, by the way).

What a trip. It looks like it was designed for easy maitenence. There were only SNK stickers on it, so it looks like it wasn't farmed out to another party for construction. It was set for Yen and Japanese voltage and all the words were in Japanese.

I can say for certain that there are two versions running around, the difference seems to be in how the connections in back are arranged: His was like the one in the pics HERE. the other version is HERE.

Man, the little puppy has come a long way to be out here in La-la Land.

(thanks Vinh)

Bobak,

I'm totally out of it. That meal was huge. Too much for a small guy like me.

It was great meeting up with Bobak guys. He's down to earth and our conversations was very little about Neo Geo topics, which is refreshing, since that's what we're very much into.

Anyhow, Bobak and I are deciding to get some L.A. people or whomever wants to come and have a little competition in some Neo games some time. Anyone is welcome to join, just contact Bobak and we'll set up a day and time.

Make sure you have enough Beer at your place Bobak. I'll bring the women. Uh, no women allowed on Geo nights.

Man I wish I was there for that! I'd almost move to cali but it's way too liberal for my tastes out there (no offence)!

Peace

FG,

40 minutes South of L.A. should be Orange County area.

Try Southern Hills Golfland in Stanton. They have two 6 slot Neo's side by side with the newest games. Machines are kept up in excellent condition and there are occasional KOF players.

The top Marvel vs. Capcom 2, Tekken 4, CvS2, (about any fighting game) players come to this location for competition. If you're a newbie at M vs. C 2 and want a lesson, go there. You'll learn alot in a very short time.

No doubt the best arcade in the U.S. for competition of all sorts of fighting games.

I'm about to start crying as I will probably never get to see that place...

Cool, I'll give it a shot. I haven't been to an arcade in awhile, used to hit up Sega City alot. They used to have $20 Saturday nights where you payed a $20 admission fee and from 8PM - 1AM the games were set on free play (still had to pay for ticket-dispensing games though). Was pretty cool, but there wasn't a Neo game is sight. The VS games were popular then too

I remember the Sega City (it was that Irvine mall where the 405 & 5 met up). I went to it a few times but noticed it was gone last time. What a shame. My friend who went to UCI told me about those $20 nights.

Yep, the Irvine Spectrum. It was pretty cool, but it was never very crowded for some reason. It was replaced with a GameWorks (another arcade) that is about 3X the size of the old Sega City. They have the same "pay for a night" deal but it's like $30 - $40 and they STILL don't have a Neo cab in there

The GameWorks has a bar, band and hot chicks walking around in skimpy outfits taking orders and leaving drinks. They also have a bowling game that has a screen the size of a movie theater

Hey Bobak and Tru,

Maybe you guys can put together some kind of Neo Bash around E3...I can't think of a better time when a LOT of gamers would be in the same place at the same time...can you?
That would give me something to look forward to after rounding the halls of the LA Convention Center bitching about all the shitty new 3D games.

Yeah, E3 only takes up so much time in the day. What to do from 4 pm to 9 am the next day???

I can't think of anything better than watching The Mummy and Deuce Bigalow with Bobak?

E3 sounds like a good plan to me. Probably has to be at Bobak's place, since it's larger than mine. Around E3 time, I'm sure we'll post something with regards to a get together.

E3 is the bomb. I live two blocks from the L.A. Convention center, next door to Staples Center. Traffic here sucks when something goes on.

DAMN that hotel unit is freakin cool. Hey FEELGOOD, it's a bit far, but you could try the arcade in WALNUT where they have kof 2001 on big screen arcade machines.
About a 40 min drive if you take 57 to the 60.

Once I figure a way to get the discount for this E3, consider it done.
