I'm just saying that those that whined in the first place about cart prices are not going to change the law of supply and demand.
Complaining about one persons price list basically educates people to compete with that price list and attempt to get the same amount of money if not more.
Now if this person selling the Metal Slug was unaware of what Metal Slug US might be going for he/she would have thought $450 was a 'GREAT DEAL' to them but after that over blown education of the Neo Store price list, other sellers price tags for carts have now increases diminishing that chance for what someone mentioned as a 'Bargain'

Thats why I say these ain't Mickey Mantle rookie cards...they are fucking videogames. Axe the mother fucking price guide. Cappadonna, Yuckydog, Shawn and Kinnethryu must have a TON of fucking money to blow! Let 'em, they look like fucking fools! I got me a MVS Slug which plays the same if not better than the HC version for $50! I love it! Shit, I got me 27 games that cost less than that one fucking game! (a hell of a lot less!)

Sorry for the re-post but is that "white area" supposed to be on the back of the game?

Hmmmm....??? It's not really about the bidders...The home release of that game is English and VERY RARE so it's worth around $800 to a $1000. It's a Great game and a Classic IMO but what i'm trying to get across is it's those of you who complain about outrageous prices who educate other sellers to raise the prices of their carts diminishing your chances of finding that 'BARGAIN'(love that word)
I'm not criticizing the bidders at all because it's 'their prerogative' to do whatever they wish with 'their money'
Hey all you whiners about outrageous prices, click that link and hop on that bargain you were looking for heh..heh..
Basically the best thing to do is hunt/search for the bargain(they are out here)instead of complaining about one seller's price..what may be a ripoff to you could be a good deal to another.

The "white area" is indeed a part of the original insert. I hypothesize that this occurred as part of SNK's template changing from the original all-grey Euro style to a more colorful descriptive back. Both the Metal Slug (NGH-201) and Neo TurfMasters (NGH-200) have this white area on the bottom feauturing the same disclaimer information as the previous grey template games from the same time period such as Fatal Fury 3, Samurai Shodown 3 and others. I would love to also vouch for and include KOF96 in this group as I can remember seeing the white area on this cart as well, but am unable to give a first-person perspective as it's been a while since I've had that game.

DSD, your comment about the whacked out colors is right on the money. The real Metal Slug does indeed have an unlikely teal blue color scheme on the back that contrasts with the actual blue striping scheme for the meg count box and logo. However, these misleading color patterns are a part of the actual game and I can vouch for that as I have seen three separate individual copies of the game first-hand.

Sincerely,

Mikhail

EDIT: Added clarification about color scheme discrepancy.

Alright everybody, want to talk about fake? That US Ninja Master's the guy listed is FAKE. There is NO gold warning sticker on the cartridge as you can see. It's FAKE, FAKE, FAKE! So please, don't bid on it, and maybe I'll spend $300 on it or so just to have the stupid little picture sitting on my shelf. Also, some dummy misspelled the game name. It's so obvious that Ninja Master's refers to a possessive case and that proper grammar would urge for the omission of the apostrophe. In any case, don't be fooled by the shiny conversion cart shell and the cheap imitation baggy housing the front page of the manual. Avoid bidding on this monstrosity. As a favor to those of us who actually want this imitation game, please do not raise the price higher than $300 because that is the maximum I can pay for this converted item. Thank you for your cooperation.

Sincerely,

Mikhail

Kale, lol. I know you posses an exceptional knack for detecting discrepancies. But I hope you are not serious about the NM auction. Are you trying to steer us away from the U.S. NM so you can have it for your self? I have had at least five English version Ninja Master’s in the past 6 months, two of them completely lacked any signs of ever having a gold warning sticker. Every copy was completely legitimate, apparently not all of the NM originally came with a gold warning sticker. From the picture in the auction, I do not detect a fake. In fact, it looks like the real deal and I intend to bid. Sorry, the $300 mark will be breached.

Umm...you could say that.

I guess that's why I am having so much trouble finding that perfect woman. They are much harder to find than pristine condition mint carts.

FAKE! Every last one of them. In fact, the game does not even exist in the US form, so it HAS to be fake! I know it does not exist because I have never seen it or held it in my hands, and only items with which I physically bond and conduct a transfer of cellular tissue can possibly exist in this constructed matrix of ours.

Sincerely,

Mikhail

P.S. I know that people still use eBay as their primary source of Neo cart scouting, but I have to say that the ONLY way a "bargain" deal is to be found is through the SELLER's error in listing an item incorrectly, misspelling the name of the game or omitting the words Neo Geo from the listing thus blocking it for most searches.

I am not trying to make assumptions...but who the heck is this seller....I guess selling these games for? Obviously it is someone who knows about this forum and is familliar with the Price Guide. I am not complaining about anything...I just don't understand why a toystore would sell a Neo Geo game on the Ebay for an individual........Why didn't they just do it themselves? or at least use their own user ID or have one made? I just think it comes off a little strange.....oh well....just my thoughts.....

Hey kiselgof/Mikhail, if you just look at the copy of Ninja Masters that is in Shawn's collection, you'll notice it doesn't have any gold warning sticker either. I'm pretty sure they didn't use gold warning stickers when that game was released. I've seen other games that don't have the gold sticker as well. Just look at KOF 94 and 95. I think you're just trying to get people to not bid on it because you want it yourself.

No, more like you're the one acknowledging that you have no grasp of sarcasm whatsoever. BTW, cool signature. Too bad it's bigger than your posts.

Well, in the Neo world, bigger is badder and better. "Not bad meaning bad but bad meaning good"...

OK!It's always the same problem.People who see all excitement in front of some Neo carts imagine that they will sell it at a marvellous price. The best thing to do is what Big Bear said:not to bid.
