Pochi & Nya is Compile's puzzle game that's supposed to follow up Puyo Puyo is coming out on MVS in April instead of NAOMI which was announced earlier. Taito is doing distribution for Aiky, the company that holds Compile's copyrights.

Coming out on MVS instead of Naomi?

That's a bit odd, but it's still a new Neo game! wink

I hope it's more like Super Puzzle Fighter 2! I don't like basic Puyo Puyo, but that variation kicks ass!

Jeebus! That is good news, we could use some new non-fighters... and puzzlers are always good.. and timeless!

Finnaly a Non slug Non fighter. I would have prefered a shooter but this will do.

Could you imagine a Compile shooter on the NEO?! Man that would have ruled.

Taito as distributor? I wonder why they aren't using their own F3 system. The F3 saw the likes of Puzzle Bobble 3 and 4.

Perhaps they reckon the MVS distribution is higher than their own system's. Which is quite true I guess.

Edit: Hang on a sec, didn't Compile close down recently??

HELL YES! It's been too long since the Neo's seen a new puzzle game. What's even better is that it's a Puyo-Puyo spin-off (one of my favorite puzzle games of all time). I can't wait to give it a shot (once it shows up stateside, that is).

This is the first time I have been interested in actually buying a new MVS game.

As to why Taito didn't put this game on their own hardware, F3 and G-NET are quite dead in the arcade marketplace. Even Taito is putting their newest stuff on NAOMI GD. MVS has the highest saturation of any modular system so it makes sense to me why they would want to move to a common and cheap platform.

Thanks,

Though I'll have to take your word for it :)

I'm really looking forward to another puzzle game.
