No this is not bullshit, far from it, a REAL game called "Super Fighters" is coming on on Neo CD, info on the game can be found here:

Oh you may say, no where on this site it says Neo Geo and you are right but this is just to show you what the games about, here is where the real news is to be made:

See that bit that says "Neo Geo CDZ"? see that bit that says "Summer 2003" and finally see that bit that says "Super Fighter"? This is major cool indeed, I would advise you to pay your respects to Oldgamers for doing this as I'd guess if the game sells well they may make more for the Neo Geo CD in the future, say tuned!

Even the music is catchy---this is a nice project! I hope it sees the light of day, I'll purchase it for sure.

Yeah, that's why they are having to redo bit's of the game, and anyway I for one will buy it as it may lead forward to future things on the Neo Geo CD, PLAYMORE has no intrest in the Neo Geo CD so it's great to see someone is making an effort glee

Personally I'm really happy about a new Neo CD game, but not about Super Fighter to be honest. The original version looks and plays awful, but AFAIK, the author has redrawn some sprites and updated other stuff, so it may be worth a try, dunno...

I wouldn't mind seeing the newer KOF games, either, but I'm not sure they could be done properly on CD. Could you imagine the load times?

I'm a big Neo CD fan and all, but I really don't think that we see the "missing games" on CD, like Waku7, KoF2k/2k1, Slug 3, etc. It wouldn't be possible to port them to Neo CD without MASSIVE cuts, and the load times would be too high for most ppl.

Given the load times of Last Blade 2 on Neo CD, I would imagine that the load times of a Neo CD version of KoF2k1 would be nearly twice as long. So, KoF2k would load for about 1.5 mins initially, 1 to 1.5 minutes between rounds, and then again 40 secs for every one of Igniz's insane (S)DMs...

This is true that it was not the best fighting game to todays standards but Death Adder's team will be redoing the sprites and sound. I do belive this will be a great title.
Death Adder actually got me hooked on this game several years back. I think its great he is doing this.
Don't knock it untill you've played the Remix version that will be comming out. If everyone acts like you nothing will ever be released on the Neo CD.

I've read thru the whole Super Fighter web site and checked Oldergames, it seems that there will be PCE, GBA, CD-I, Genesis (?) and Sega CD versions too.

Not bad. I mean, the (original) game still is so-so, but you simply have to appreciate the work that goes into it. These guys seem to be serious about their stuff, they even present a new C=64 game on this year's CGE... eek!

Aw crap... I'm in for Super Fighter NGCD now. You got me on me weak spot Death Adder, damn you!

I think they'd be very successful @ creating platform or caricature fighting style games as 1st projects.
It appears that the energy to complete a project is there but I think a serious type fighter is abit too much whereas I believe they would breeze through League Bowling,Puzzle Bobble,Rayguy,Spinmaster type games.

I honestly just don't understand why Playmore doesn't remake the CD system... They have enough info on the BIOS that they could make a new one, with a fast drive, and it would be able to play all the old games. It could probably be built extremely cheaply w/ off the shelf parts. They could then sell it for $100 and repress all the old CD games and sell them for 30$ a pop and make a load of money... No real effort required. With load times fixed, they could then make the newer games on CD, and they could sell for around $100 instead of $300.

Yeah acutally I have, but once they get more info on the release of the game it will be updated. I was told that they did not even want this info to get out yet. They werent ready for all of the early publicty. And a few threads at this forum shows exactly that. But I think people are comming around finally and will be giving SF a chance.

But bear in mind that the Neo Geo Version will have new music, better graphics ect so use this to see what could be rather than what is.

The Neo CD is dead and buried. The load times on it SUCK. Forget it, nothing will ever come out for it again. Why would anyone put games out for a virtually DEAD system, when they could just port them over to ANY OTHER SYSTEM and get way more sales? Doesn't make any sense at all . . . don't hold your breath dude. oh_no

This game is quite small in size, the PC version is 1.4 mb, maybe by the time we have new music & effects we'll see an small increse but not huge, Even the Neo Geo CD can load up games of this size quick quickly, I'd guess It would be one of those games with maybe a 20 seconds load time and then that should be it
