Actually, Clala came first; she first appeared in Power Instinct 2 in 1994, while Sakura Kinomoto (a.k.a. Card Captor Sakura) first appeared in Card Captor Sakura in 1996.

One other thing: the artist for this game is Range Murata (I'll dig up some info on him soon, but I know he did get his start by drawing doujinshi [much like T-Wave, artist for Rage Of The Dragons]).

Edit: You're not going to believe this, but Range Murata was the character designer for Blue Submarine No. 6. His artwork on "Blue Sub 6", as well as a few of his other pieces, can be viewed here:

Yeah I noticed the drawings looked a little similar to the ROTD drawings...but that can only be a good thing heh.

I'm assuming that Clala is supposed to be Clara, and that its just yet another funky juxtoposition of the l and r so familiar in Engrish.

Pochi is supposed to be Poochy, judging from the screens.

Keith's face makes me think of a younger Christopher Walken.

Nope, just another example of a webpage designer only being given the character names in Japanese and not bothering to check with the game designers for the proper English spellings when it came time to name his .html files. The character's name is Hananokouji Kurara. I was a little surprised to see the webpage designer screw her name up that badly, given Kurara's popularity.

Some of the artwork for WatchenRoder (Saturn RPG - never played it, just have a promo flyer for it) looks similar to that of Blue Sub 6. Is it also done by Range Murata ?
