Well, we all know that KOF2003 was confirmed for release. Seeing how we're already in September and 2003 is fast winding down, has SNK Playmore shown any pictures or released any new info on this?

I'm really looking forward to KOF2k3 as I thought KOF2k2 was a great and showed a lot of promise and improvments. Do you think the home cart will be released by the end of the year?

I don't think the home cart will be released until at least january...I'm still hoping for an MVS cart release (unlikely).

I'd say later than that since we aren't going to see MVS till what December?

There's a small bit of news over at the SNK-Capcom forums about it from Trieu. He says it'll be out in December and on the MVS. No other news or info about it though.

Yeah, I saw Trieu's info a few weeks ago.

I already have SVC CHAOS pre-ordered, but am I the only one who seems excited about the imminent release of KOF2003? eek_2 I mean, I'm not a big Samurai SHodown fan and I'll take a "wait and see" approach for Metal Slug 5, but I KNOW that KOF2003 will be stellar! :p

Hopefully they'll finally change the graphics other wise I doubt there will be many sales.

As for whats gonna be new I'll guess
-new story line
-new hero team
-same Kyo Iori rivalry
-New gimmick

I liked the sound of that rumor here a few months ago, about reworking of the KOF series, then a release of Orochi Hearts (a separate KOF character game) until they rework the series for 2004.

Too bad e3 proved this was just a rumor and nothing more.

They have to redo some of that artwork. 2000-2002 looks so dreary and dark for no reason.

Fuck, that shit in Trap Gunner's sig is disturbing.

Uh anyway, King of Fighters 2003...

Call me when something concrete comes up. I'm sure once Playmore releases some info about this bad boy, all the naysayers will be jumping back on the KoF bandwagon.

I doubt the homecart or MVS will be released by the end of the year. There's just too much speculation going on right now. I mean the big rumor now, is that SS0 is going to be out in November, with MS5 coming out shortly thereafter, and then KOF 2K3 coming out early next year. I seriously doubt any of it is true though, because I find it hard to believe SNKP would release SS0 a month after SvC, and then all the other games so close to each other. I'm just going to sit back and wait and see what happens. I'm not going to get my hopes up until there's been an official announcement or release confirmation by SNKP or Shawn.

I hope you don't endorse that stuff TrapGunner. wink

Anyways, I'm always glad to see another KOF, but they really need to brighten up the color palette ('01 and '02's colors looked extremely dull) and go back to hand drawn backrounds (prerendered backrounds are nice, but they make the sprites feel extremely detached).

Of course, my biggest dream is to see KOF on some bigger better hardware with high res graphics.

No we don't know! :p

That's only a rumor!
SNK playmore never talked about a KOF this year.
Only Trieu said that. Most of the time he is right... but nothing official was really said.
So...
No, KOF2k3 wasn't confirmed.

But if any of you got an official information from playmore than give me the link thanks wink

Scalpeur's right, it wasn't confirmed...but I'm still crossing my fingers for it. There's probably gonna be a tag feature or something as they don't have many gimmicks left.

It would be weird if there wasn't a KoF this year. After eight years I guess I've started taking them for granted. I always thought a new KoF every year was a given.

Yep Trieu is rarely right, remember way back when RyoGeo posted that Samurai Shodown 5 was confirmed by Trieu? Well half a year later what do we get? Samurai Shodown 0? what is that crap :p

quite honestly i really want to hear something
about this game regardless whether its good or not
i love kof and i look forward to it each year.
all i would ask is for PLAYMORE to put them out until
2004 for sure.
the series deserves to have a 10th anniversary.

I'm in complete agreement. KOF is what the modern day Neo is most known for and these games are a blast to play!

Playmore/Eolith has a very solid KOF 2002 base to work with for this year's version! I'm not looking for huge improvements, just a new version of KOF and preferably on MVS CART format! wink
