Dr. NeoGeo
Master Terry Bogard
Neo Rasa
Fran (maybe trade his US KE )

Adol
Big Bruno
some European Neo gamers/collectors

Well of course brand new boxed high serial number Neos are virtually impossible to find anymore, and these particular ones are history in a way . . . the last ones owned by SNK Japan. But of course the collectors that bought these will put them on a shelf for display, no one would be foolish enough to open up a system like that!! Think of how nice they'd look on the shelf, with that nice crispy box and mint new stuff inside . . . never to be opened by human hands!!

I doubt few, if any, will admit that they were .....ummm... spent that much money on an item they could get fully modded for $500 or less even with some patience...

Neo's should sell for $200 to $250, $300 to MAYBE $400 modded....

I only understand buying one if you don't have a neo or you want ONE back up system. I don't understand the concept of buying it with NO intention of EVER playing it. Seem like such a waste of a system..........whatever though.....

Simple fact is you can find NEOs in great shape on ebay all the time with two sticks and one game usually for 200 easily, maybe 250. 1000 is just insane.

Maybe they were sold to a buyer who wants to remain anonymous from the United Ahrab Emirates?

HA, just give it a month or two and they will sell along the same price lines as our "1000 dollar buddies"

I don't get it people are willing to shell out $800+ for an OLD neo but unwilling to buy an AES 2 capable of play MVS, AES, and Jamma for $400. What the hell are you thinking? If it comes with a box with a plastic handle is it then worth $1000? heheheh.....

Shawn, your excuse of raising the price is UNACCEPTABLE.You just PROVED how GREEDY you really are when it comes to NEO stuff.
Might as well partner with NGF now......sheesh... You want things IN STOCK TO SELL NOT MAKE YOUR STORE LOOK FULL! I am glad you're not a car salesman or Computer salesman....you'd never get ANY bussiness........

Now your being Kooky. I have 4 systems right now. 1 broke, a 16,xxxx, a 70,xxx and a 359,xxx or something high. all of which are fully moded (except for the broke one) oh and I only have 2 power supplies at any rate if I really wanted a new Neo right now I would get one from !arcade! who also has neo's in stock with box for under $500. I do not mind shawn selling those so high though and people buying them because it would appears sales on the english version of Sengoku 3 and metal slug 3 did not fair as well despite the support here, and I imagine overall shawn is still in the black. So if he can make a quick $8,000 on 10 neo systems I think it is great. so that leaves what $75,000 more or so to make up

Remember a week or so ago? When that new AES system ended on ebay for over a grand? And we were all laughing at how dumb the guy was that won it?
Gee I wonder were neo.com get's it's price influences from?? Not to mention this is the nail in the coffin on the price guide here!

Funny how a new AES went for a grand on eBay, and now thats what this site is charging. Everyone can thank Shawn when used AES systems start going for 500! Hell if "neo.com" can get 1,000 new, my used one must be worth 500!

This shit is about to worse that anyone could have imagined, right now I am so glad I don't collect homecarts...

You know true colors are coming out, and Dion and NGF are looking like they have some competition...

You got it reversed there. Instead of blaming Shawn for the high prices, why not look to Ebay where that system went for just under $1500 new. Ebay is the source of this price inflation, as it is for so many other things. People willing to bid insane amounts for items just to get them.

And for all of you blaming Shawn, that's ridiculous. This is all pure supply and demand, and items sell for what the market will bear. In this case, at the price of $800+ for a new cart system, they sell no problem (in fact, in a matter of days). Why blame Shawn for that? Why not blame the people who pay that kind of money for stuff? He runs a store, and is completely within his rights to price ANY item at WHATEVER he wants. If the item is priced too high, it won't move, period. If it isn't, it will. In this case, the price was no problem and the systems all moved (except one last time I checked).

Don't blame Shawn for the state of the market, thats totally ridiculous. Don't be angry with him because the Neo is such a highly prized and collectible system, thats not his fault.

In fact, instead of blaming him for these paltry few systems that came available (only a few), why not thank him for single handedly bringing out two new Neo Geo English home cartridges, Metal Slug 3 and Sengoku 3? Without his support on these, neither would have ever been released in English, and in fact may not have been released as JPN copies as well.

Well, it wasn't me. I wouldn't spend a fortune on something I'd never play. Besides, I'm waiting to get a slightly-used AES system at a BETTER price.
