What dictates the price of an MVS cart when it is first released? Is it based solely on profit potential by operators? Games like KoF 2K1 will cost $1200+, but why are games like NitD and Zupapa! only $2XX?

How much do you think Metal Slug 4 will cost when it is released on MVS? Where do you get new MVS games? I've noticed there are even less places on the net that sell MVS carts compared to HCs.

How much was spent on development; what was spent on advertising and manufacturing the cartridge; and the
initial demand for the cartridge. If interest is low, the price will be more expensive to recoup development costs.

I think if interest is low, like in NITD and Zupapa, that is what dictated the lower price of admission. And, also why KOF2K and 2K1 was so high... I don't know, I bet MS4 will be around $600-800 when released... maybe more, but that is a flagship title... and will make money in the arcade. Basicly, I think the rule is, sell it for what you think you can get for it. No operator is going to spend $800 on NITD, they will never get their money back, but on KOF2k1... well thats another story <IMG SRC="smilies/smile.gif" border="0">

I agree with the general consensus: It's what they know the operators will make off of it (especially with series games like KOF and MS because they know how they did just the year before).
