snk is dead... an age has come to end...very sad
but the programmers are still alive the heart of old snk
eolith has the kof rights so i supose kof will continue certainly not on the neo geo but maybe on ps2,xbox or gc

<Joke Mode>Maybe some of the unemployed SNK programmers are coming in on the Neo-Store's incoming shipment of goodies! I'll offer $5 for one of them, but only if they're in MINT condition!</Joke Mode>

The company SNK has gone out of business..the technology still exists and I am sure 3rd party companies will produce games. Now alot of people will frown on these 3rd party companies but there's something called 'CHOICE' that exists and I am happy it does...
SNK did 'BAD BUSINESS' throughout the years and it's finally caught up with them.
They even had the opportunity to redeem themselves and they BLEW that opportunity.
It's SAD but nothing to lose sleep over.
SNK or Neo Geo was thought to have been out of business in 94' but during this seven year stretch SNK still mad BAD BUSINESS decisions..Neo Geo CD 1X ,B&W Neo Pocket right before color version,Hyper 64(nothing special, lil support),horrible marketing, the list goes on and on....
It was a GREAT RUN...I don't think a 3rd party would focus on fighters but maybe Casino type games, platformers,RPG's,more puzzle games, etc.
you know,areas SNK hardly explored.

Well, I really hope that id the rights are sold off to other people, that they do the series justice and NOT Capcom-up the games. The thin that was always cool about SNK is that they strived to set themselves appart from companies that made 2D games as well. And there were a lot of those companies back in the day.

For the most part, SNK succeeded at making sure that their games made an impression. Some duds here and there, but they certainly have a great, great track record.

Capcom has become really stale ove the past years and the know it. They had to license the super cool SNK characters to make a good dighting game (in CVS2, I find myself avoiding the CAP camp like the plague as they pale next to the SNK crew).

So please, whomever is taking over SNK properties, keep SNK games the way they were meant and created to be; UNIQUE, NEW, TRAILBLAZING, and SURPRISING.

If I wanted to play SF3TS, I'd play SF3TS.

I like Capcom, but not as much as I used to.

Y'know, DL, I think the marketing people in charge of promoting the home systems are actually going for $5 each.

When SNK-USA went down for good I got the entire Barone family for under $50. <IMG SRC="smilies/wink.gif" border="0">

I have a couple, but they've been stamped with the NGF stickers everywhere. I'll trade for a grilled cheese sandwich and a kool-aid burst.
